You can get the vista drivers from here...

http://search.lexmark.com/printer/US/en/21D5780.html

When asked - save to disc, then when the download is finished just click on the file to install the drivers and software on your PC.

Hope this hopes

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Hp dc5800 recovery cd lost ibought new hd how could i make new recovery partition in the new hd?

There isn't any way to build a new recovery partition on a new empty hard drive. The recovery partition is put on when the drive is imaged at the manufacturer, but you don't have any source to copy from. If you don't have a recovery disc set, you have two options. The first option is to see if HP sells a recovery disc for your computer. It's unlikely, and expensive if they do have them available.

The second option is to do a fresh installation of Windows yourself. This is a little more work, but it's not difficult. You'll need a copy of Windows, the same version that came installed on the computer. (For a Vista machine, you just need the "Anytime Upgrade" DVD, which has all the Vista versions on it.) You'll also need to download any hardware drivers needed from HP's website. The installation is mostly automatic; you just need to enter the product key at some point, and you'll find that on the Windows sticker on the computer case. After Windows is done installing, install the hardware drivers and activate Windows. (When the recovery partition or a restore disc is used, the activation is automatic.)

System Restore Via Recovery Console
Ever encountered a problem with your computer wherein it gives you an error page saying that a certain file in the registry is missing or corrupt? Unfortunately, with this kind of error, there are times that you are not able to boot into the OS, and therefor you are not able to do a system restore.
If you are using Windows 7 or Vista, you may initiate System Restore via booting into "Repair My Computer" which you can choose via the Advanced Boot Options of Windows. However, what do you do if this does not work, or you are using Windows XP.
Fortunately, there is still a way to be able to restore your system. This involves manually doing the system restore via the recovery console (for XP), and recovery environment (Vista and 7). The only thing that you will need is the OS CD.
Once you have successfully booted into the Recovery Console, type in the commands below and make sure that you press "ENTER" after each line.

C:\WINDOWS] cd \ C:\] attrib -h-s "system volume information" C:\] Cd "system volume information" C:\system volume information] cd _resto~1 ..._resto~1] dir --- this should list several rp folders [short for restore points] just select second to the last or any of your choice other the the last rp folder ..._resto~1] cd rp# ...rp#] cd snapshot ...snapshot] dir --- the 5 hive files are shown in this format: _registry_machine_software _registry_machine_security _registry_machine_system _registry_machine_sam _registry_user_.default Syntax [Command filename location] ...snapshot] copy _registry_machine_software c:\windows\system32\config\software ...snapshot] copy _registry_machine_system c:\windows\system32\config\system ...snapshot] copy _registry_machine_security c:\windows\system32\config\security ...snapshot] copy _registry_machine_sam c:\windows\system32\config\sam ...snapshot] copy _registry_user_.default c:\windows\system32\config\default ...snapshot] exit
After this, you just need to restart your computer and it should be working fine.

I was told to reformat my computer. I don't know how. Can you help?

Actually, it's not recommended without know how to do it since it should be done by a professional or by an experienced engg/tech. Well, before you decide to format, you'll need a Windows cd, if you wish to install Windows xp, you'll need a Windows XP original CD or if you wish to install Windows Vista, you'll need a Windows Vista DVD, in the same way with Windows 7. Note: Formatting means wiping out everything from your computer, usually C drive so that you'll be able to install another copy of Windows, which means you'll first format the C drive and then install a new copy of Windows, without Windows being installed, you computer will never run, it's similar to a useless or dead machine. I don't mean only Windows, same conditions apply with Linux or Mac.
If you want to try yourself following the instructions, let me give you few links, but it's not a simple and short process, and I won't take the risk if you fail (this is why I'd mentioned that it's a job to be done by a pro). Here are few links from BlackViper.com regarding Installing Windows. Follow the link/s and follow the instructions, there might be several pages, so make sure you scroll down to the bottom of the page/s and click "Next Page" if you are done with the first/previous page. Before you begin, please read the full tutorial/s so that you will know what exactly you're going to do with your computer. If you can still boot up your computer, make sure all the files are moved from C drive to another partition or I would recommend backing up your computer's files.

2. Windows Vista install guide.
3. Windows 7 install guide.

Good Luck.

Copy files from old computer and transfer to new computer

Although Vista comes with an Easy File Transfer Wizard it is not compatible with Windows 98.

You will need a CD burning program such as Nero Burning Suite or Creative CD Writer or here is a link to a FREE one.

Transfering mail setup from Windows xp to a windos vista machine with EasySuite

I'm not 100% sure about vista because I hate it but I can help you copy all of your outlook express data to a CD\DVD disk & your address book. Your network settings for express account is a phone call to your ISP.
If vista's explorer is set up like XP you should be able to copy your data into outlook express.
Open all these folders on you XP system.
User name\Application Data\Identities\{xxxxxxx}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
Copy the Outlook Express folder to your CD.
User name\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book. Copy Address Book folder.
Making sure you have everything.
Open, User name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{xxxxxxx}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
Compair the two Outlook Express folder files. CD will not allow copy of same named folder.
If Vista's lay out is the same as XP than copy Outlook Express folder to Vista.
Suggest you have your current ISP setting /account setup before copying to Vista

Let me know if this works for you!
Good Luck & Kind Regards.
