Question about LG enV VX9900 Cellular Phone

Hard to hear others talking...

When others talk, or i talk, it pauses the sound for a moment. It makes it difficult to follow a conversation (a lot like in the old days on an international phone call). Do i have some sort of setting in place that i need to change? That's why i'm asking about voice privacy, ERI. Is it the noise cancelling? (and if it is remind me what i go under to stop or change it...the manual index sucks).

Thanks~!

Babz, Do you know what might do it? Just the volume? What is voice privacy?

Go into menu, tools, call settings, look through all that you have turned off or on in there, also check your earpiece volume, you'll find that in sound settings, having voice privacy will not affect the volume of your call

Stacking and also i hear a shhh..hhhhhh sound from the hard disk

It depends on the type of noise, the source of the noise, your brain's reaction to the noise, and your ability, or lack thereof, to tune out a noise that can break your focus.

I work in a cube farm next to three other programmers. The cube walls are low, and offer no barrier at all to noise. One worker occasionally has outbursts where he either becomes excited or agitated and semi-yells at his screen. It's not that frequent, and though I'm over-sensitive, I can deal with it.

Another co-worker, while she has a softer voice than the agitated one, likes to softly talk to herself as she works on a problem. When she pronounces "s" or soft "c" words, the sound is similar to a squeaking chipmunk. I have good hearing, am only 5 feet away from her head, and the other guys don't even notice (at least one has poor hearing).

To me, the "s" sounds this coworker makes are like nails on a chalkboard. What's more, the noise is un-predictable, because she goes through stretches where she doesn't talk to herself at all. When she does start talking, it's pretty much impossible to have consistent focus.

What's funny/sad, too, is if I try to be subtle and say "Shhhhhhhhh...", she doesn't hear me, because her hearing isn't great.

The situation is very awkward: I don't want to tell her directly to be quiet, because her whole modus operandi seems to be based on talking to herself, and she might take serious offense. And this, in turn, makes the noise even more frustrating - kink of like your fingers getting stuck in a Chinese finger trap. So I guess that means I better find a quiet cube in a different location, or find a work environment where noise is not an issue (if there even is such a thing).

If you read this and you are one who talks to yourself, take a moment to consider your coworkers!

Hiya, can you throw some light on the following problem. I am getting a noise from under the bonnet, sound like a pump once the engine is swithed off. The same issue will happen when the engine is first...

Perhaps an electric fan? It may also be the fan spinning after the engine is stopped on its clutch mechanism. If the ket is runed to the "on position", the electric fuel pump can run until it reaches operating pressure is the line and its been shut off by a working "shut off" switch. (this is normal operation as long as it does shut off and there is no leak or loss in line pressure) More information on year, make and model may help but its difficult to answer what "that" noise is without hearing it. Again, depending on the car, vacuum operated headlamp doors, and a LOT of other things are perfectly normal noises. Good luck

I had to sell my first copy of Elder Scrolls IV Game of the Year Edition. Now I recently repurchased it but now I can't play the Shvering Isles or the Knights of the Nine Quest Lines. I have already...

Have you loaded Shivering Isles to the hard drive? The Knights of the Nine quest requires you to stay out of Anvil for a few moments. If your game save is in Anvil, leave the town, fast travel to a new town, and talk to any NPC, Attack in Anvil should be a conversation option. Select this and follow to end. Return to Anvil and head for the Chapel, you should hear some guy ranting about the Chapel being attacked and so forth. Talk to him and quest will be started. Shivering Isles pops up the second your game loads as a mysterious door has opened in Niben Bay. Swim to the island and enter the portal.

Hi i recently bought a cobra 29 ltd chrome cb radio for my car,i also installed a new antenna ,i have a strong signal, but i am unable to hear conversations because the sound is distorted. It sounds like...

You can't tune the radio. You are supposed to tune the antenna.

I have a page for tuning your antenna. This can cause some distortion, but it shouldn't be that bad. Go here for how to tune your antenna.

also the internal speakers aren't that great. Try an external. I can't just use an internal because an external is so much better.

Something else to consider. There is a lot of skip right now. Skip is when the ionosphere becomes charge by solar flairs, and causes radio signals to skip across it, making them travel hundreds and even thousands of miles. There are some cb operators out there who run a lot of power. 10k watts and up, who just talk skip all day. A lot of those guys sound extremely distorted and over modulated. You may be hearing these guys out there. Its their radio's not your receive.

Also. People who are close to you, may over load the front of the radio in the receive section, which will make it sound distorted.

Using 2 phones at same time.

most units can only "talk" with one unit at a time, because they are using a set freq. for both sides of the conversation. (think walkie-talkies of children) you can't talk and hear at the same time!

Others hear screeching noise while talking to me on the Sync.

Sorry to hear about that. You seem to have excellent proof that there in indeed something wrong with that particular make and model. Not much else you can do in my opinion except keep up the pressure... ask ATT to send you another make and model at their expense. With your record of difficulty, it should not be too difficult for them to understand that you need a differnt model. Sorry I could not be of more help.
