Question about Dell Latitude D600 Notebook

Black holes on Screen

My Dell Latitude D600 was not used for 2 weeks while I was on vacation. When I started it up I noticed a black spot on the top LHS of the screen about 3cm in diameter and another to the bottom about 2 cm in diameter.
I have never seen this before.

Those black holes come usually from a decay in the LCD(from age, like age spots, truly) or something was pressing on the screen..LCD replacement in either case.

I turn my Dell Latitude D600 laptop on and startup screen shows as usual but then it goes to a black screen. Can you help?

If your computer keeps on running after it turns black the problem maybe is the LCD. However if the computer is not running after it went black then possible problem is with the MOBO (Mainboard)

Hope it helps.

Dell Latituse D600 display goes dark

Hello,

The picture board on your monitor is faulty or bad, since it goes black after few seconds, it means the picture board of your laptop has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the laptop to a local repairer within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself. in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

Dell latitude D610 start up screen goes to black quickly and stays black

It sounds like your onboard graphics has possibly failed. If you have an additional monitor to connect to it you can see if the additional video gives any video. If it doesn't during startup then you have to replace the system board.
