When I put the paper in, and push the refill button, the paper goes down in the printer crookid, I need help does anyone know what I could possibly do?

Leading cause of paper jams or misfeeds is debris / foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area. Please try this approach to fix the problem:

  1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.
  2. Grab a flashlight and look inside the feeder for any debris or foreign objects.
  3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also carefully turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.
  4. If feeder is clear, place the printer on the table. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.
  5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions in the paper path.
  6. Close the printer cover.
  7. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - the black box where the power cord is plugged into. Re-plug after 30 seconds.
  8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Cartige is not installed properly

Hello.

Be certain that the # cartridge is the correct one for your printer. Examine the cartridge to see if the protective tape has been removed. And, remove and reinsert the cartridge so that it snaps in place.

Hope this helps.

When I receive a fax it has a large, dark black line down the middle of the page....does anyone know what this is and how to fix it?

Most likely you have a bad drum unit. Remove the cartridge and turn it upside down, swing back the shutter; you should see the large band on the drum.

The carriage stuck and I found this band with hole in both ends hanging loose. I need to know how to reconnect this band so printer will work. I cant see where this connects

You can reattach this band yourself. There are two springy hooks on each side of the printer. They are slanted so that you can position the band with the right side forward.
The band engages in a slot in the cartridge carriage, you have to slide it through. I don’t know whether you can fix the band on the right without taking off the cover of the printer. If you must, then follow the procedure:
1. Open the top cover and unscrew the two screws you find there.
2. Open the back of the printer, locate the two release latches left and right press them and lift the back a couple of millimeters (1/8”)
3. Through the top opening locate the two front latches (plastic tongues) release them by putting a screwdriver blade in the catch and pressing forward.
4. Pull the cover gently there are cables attached to it…

Hp 4600 noise problem

when power on the main board do initial devices:
1) the cartridge include toner unit and photo drum unit
2) fuser unit and all paper road include motors and sensors through the paper road.
the noise at power on you may check:
1) the toner unit that maybe over life cycle to mak much more obstruction, you may take out the cartridge and turn the gears if felling very hard so need to change the cartridge.
2) the toner unit gears damage a little that could make noise, you may check all gears on the cartridge. attention other side drive gears.
3) check the fuser unit gears do same thing above.
hope you fix it and feedback the result thanks

When changing the print cartridge, the rubber band did not break

I do not know what you mean by clear tape or sponge strip but if by ridged you mean what i think then yeah we are pretty much taking about the rubber band that moves the carriage.

So it got off, huh... it normally happens when someone pulls way too hard the cartridges, anyways, if it got loosen from the right side you need to remove all covers and scanning unit.

to do this please remove the screws on the back side and then remove the black front covers, they are set by pressure on (and some plastic nails) so i recommend you to use a flat screw driver and gently pull. look up for little triangular marks or the plastic nails, any good pressure point. once those black covers are removed, unscrew the screws (i dont know if that's the proper expression sorry) you see and proceed to remove the plastic covers, they should come out easily. then you might not need to remove the scanning unit IF you actually can set the band on again. It goes around a little gear you can actually move towards your left to avoid stretching the band more than needed. good luck!!
if you nee dto remove the scnaning unit please unplug everything on the left side before. should be at least two flat cables and a few others.

Mechanism, belt came off.

Turn your machine upside down and give it a shake. Most likely, a small spring will fell out. The same thing happened to us and sure enough, it was the spring. This spring will give the tension you need to hold the belt on the plastic piece.

Loud clicking noise

Power the machine on with drum and toner removed, check for noise....

It will be either the Fuser, Toner or the drum.

If it is non gen. or refill toner, fault found.

The drum is a normal consumable that you change every 3 to 4 toner cartridges, so if any of you have used more than 4 toners and havent changed the drum, I'd say that we have found your problem.

......now to the hangers on .....

Fuser, thats the hot bit at the back, these have a gear that cracks because the whole fuser assemble is old, brittle and stiff, you can pull it all apart and change the gear and be off, but soon it will more than likely break again, I know cause if I do that as the fix they come back within 6mnts.

Replace fuser, or have it replaced

Fuser is a HiVolt, HiTemp part. Caution!!!!
