Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

Okay, I'm not a TV-phobe, but I recently replaced my old TV with a new Samsung LN37A450D1D HDTV. It's run great, but this morning I turned it on and 2 of the HDTV channels had simply disappeared -- even off the channel list. I've reset the channels several times after moving the antenna (I only have an indoor which also has been fine), but no luck. The weird thing is I also have a Panasonic DVD recorder which picks up these channels no problem. Incidentally, during the resets I picked up a few channels I didn't have before. What is going on here?

Hello,
Dont worry, the problem is coincidental to you installing the Wii. You need a new lamp.
What you are seeing is the lamp ballast/power supply attempting to start and restart your lamp. The resistance of your lamp to it's power source has increased to the point that it is shutting down, but has not blown out yet. You can find these at justlamps.com
Good luck

DLP TV lamp went out, new one doesn't work either,

Well you have a Samsung TV, in this case, it's most probable that you might have an issuw with your ballast. It might not have enough energu to keep up with your new lamp. You might ask yourself, How could this be if it worked with the old lamp? Well the old lamp didn't have all of it's gases, like it used, when you recently purchased the tv or lamp, and as time goes by, those gases tend to go out.
