When I try to turn the TV on, it sounds like it is turning on but nothing shows up on the screen. Then after a minute or so it just shuts off. Any idea whats wrong??

Thanks

Have a Mitsubishi 65731. Bulb was getting dimmer and dimmer. Finally went out. Ordered a new replacement bulb (915P049010). Put new bulb in and turned TV on. Sound came on and after 10 or so seconds the picture came on. Then after a few seconds TV turned itself off and red status light comes on. Unplugged TV for a couple of minutes and replugged it in again. Status light flashed green for about a minute then went out. Tried to power TV back on again. Sound came on then after a few seconds picture came on. Then turned it self off again and red status light came on. I have another bulb on order just in case it is the bulb but am not convinced it is the bulb.

TV Sounds like it is powering up, then powering back down again. Does it maybe 3 or 4 times then the light turns off and nothing... I do hear sound when the cable box is on. The light stops blinking and becomes solid while it is trying to turn itself on. Tech said he had no idea what it was but since it is out of warranty, he guessed it would cost $400 or more to fix whatever the problem was. I am not sure if it is a capacitor problem because the people with that problem seem to just have a blinking light. Please help!

Talked to a tech and he said it was 3.3v and a 12v compasitor in the power supply that is a common problem with these large TV's from Mitsubishi. There are 4 of the 3.3v and 1 12v that need to be changed. He said it is a problem with about 5 different models. He also said that once these are changed out that you dont have the problem again. If this happens to you be sure to ask Mitsubishi if they intend to help with the repairs. they will review and probably help defray the cost since it is a common problem.

Check and make sure your fans are working and there is sufficiant cooling to the back of the set. Sounds like it is overheating and going into protection mode.

Blink power button and black screen

Most of the time it is due to a bad CRT. You have three of them in this set and if you do one, I would do them all so there would not be a color imbalance. The Cost of repairing the set would be too great to consider. I would estimate the cost of 900.00 in parts alone. Plus Sony does not have the CRT assemblies to send out. You must remove them from the unit and send them to Sony so they can mount new CRTs on the Optical Coupler. I would price a new set and let this one go.

Hitachi projection tv was turned on and off repeatedly by child

sounds like you have lost the power supply , probably high voltage. That is what drives the tubes. Your low voltage is working because you have audio.. Proably not an in home repair. Good luck

Hi,

You can try a Hard Reset.
Unplug Power Cord. Let the unit stay off for 5 minutes. Then plug the cord back in and check.

Also check if you get any kind of beep sound or flashing led on the dispaly.

Refix the video cables as well.

Let us know what happens.

Regards.
