Question about Olivetti Lettera 25 Typewriter
Carriage appears to be stuck, but what the (German) instruction leaflet indicates to be the carriage lock mechanism is not engaged. Typing and the tab and space bars do not solve the problem. There is a tiny bit of give in the carriage - it moves about a millimetre either way when pushed and springs back - the resistance sounds solid and metallic. I've taken the back off but can't figure out what's wrong with it. The carriage is jammed fractionally off-centre (left).
Otherwise seems to be in excellent working order/
Any help extremely gratefully received
THERE IS A CARRIAGE LOCK ON THE MACHINE IF I REMEMBER RIGHT IT'S SO THE CARRIAGE DOSENT MOVE WHEN IT IN THE CARRING CASE. LOOK ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT END OF THE CARRIAGE JUST BELOW THE PLATEN KNOBS OR IT MAYBE A LEVER ON THE SIDE OF THE KEYBOARD
