If it is a tray-load drive, there is a small hole in the front. Pushing a straightened paper clip into this hole should unlatch the tray so you can pull it out.
Many slot load drives have the release tool entry way over on the left end of the slot. Push the straightened paper clip in there (it must go in perpendicular to the front of the drive, not angled in any other direction).
If you hit the target, you should feel something like a spring-loaded cam mechanism moving - it will take a moderately firm amount of pressure to start it, then it will unlatch and push more easily. Be careful - if the paper clip starts to bend on you, or it feels like you are bending something inside, you probably don't have the target. You should not need to apply anywhere close to the force to bend a larger-size paper clip with an end-on push.
If the computer is functioning normally, you should be able to remove the disk by starting the computer, then repeatedly pressing the eject key just before it starts the boot up cycle. To avoid having the disk pop out then pull in again while doing this (tray load), press once, pause for 3/4 second, then thereafter press twice rapidly and pause for 3/4 second. This will give you a good shot at hitting the time window between starting the optical drive and beginning boot-up and time to stop hitting eject when the disk starts coming out.
If all else fails, take the cover off of the drive (not installed or plugged in to anything) and study the mechanism. Tray loaders have a rack on one side of the tray driven by a pinion gear, either mounted directly on the tray motor or driven through a belt or gear train. You can manually turn the motor or an intermediate gear to unload the disk and run the tray out. Slot loading drives have a cage of curved bars with rollers at the edge of the disk - look for the mechanism that drives this cage and manually turn it as described for the tray load mechanism.
Do not try to pull the tray or cage directly - you'll damage the disk locking mechanism and may jam things up so the only way to get the disk out is to tear the whole thing apart. Always turn the disk load/unload motor, one of its reduction gears or belt-drive pulley (if present.

The disc tray on my iView 4000KR won't open. It has a disc inside that plays fine, but won't eject. This has never happened in the 18 months I've had the player.

Under each disk tray is a very small hole; this hole is for use when you experience the problem like yours.

Get a paper/money clip and straighten the wire; push the wire into this hole and your disk will open.

Won't play, just keeps loading

ensure that both the disk tray and disk itself are in very good condition normally a can of compressed air into the disk tray itself will do wonders for older disk players

DVD tray makes noise when it rotates

This noise can be casued by two things:

1) The tray is not completely in the loaded position and the "clamper" is rubbing. Replace the loading belt and the loading sequence will complete and the noise should stop.

2) The "CD table" that is part of the spindle motor assembly has slipped a bit. This will make the CD/DVD ride too low and strike the lower tray support. This will require that the table be "re-aligned" to the proper height which may not be possible on your model without special measurement equipment. The height is critical to proper operation of the unit.

Try replacing the load belt first and report your results.

Thanks,
Dan

DVD loading mechanism doesn't load completely that's why opens after attempt of loading.
You need to open top cover of unit and inspect loading belt might be lose, tray timing can be out of phase, some wire got stuck with tray while loading etc.
