Question about Acer Computers & Internet

Everytime i try to open a video email or any slide show from my folders the windows explorer page will open and close approx every second until i restart the laptop any ideas

Have you scanned for spyware /virues . are they all up to date?

was they ok before.

is this only a recent thing they wont play open.

Desktop Short Cut Missing


Hello,Some times your Desktop shortcuts or Start Menu Disappeared.It is happening due to Error Occurred in Explorer.exe. You can Clear this Error without Formatting.Just Do Following..
  1. Copy "explorer.exe" from other clean computer (from C:WINDOWS)
  2. And Paste it In your computer go to C:WINDOWS
  3. Show hidden files from (Tools - Folder Options - View - Show hidden files and folders)
  4. Delete existing 'explorer.exe' and any other files start with explorer...
  5. Put the new file (explorer.exe)
  6. Log off / Restart
  7. Log on

Clear your internet cache in Internet Explorer:
1.Open Internet Explorer
2.At the top of the screen, click on Tools.
3.In the Tools menu, click on Internet Options...
4.If you do not see the tools menu hold down the alt and t key on the keyboard.
5.In the Internet Options window, find the Temporary Internet Files section. Click on Delete.
Delete Browsing History window will appear. Click on the Delete Files... button.
A verification screen will then come up. Click Yes to delete.
6. When this is finished, you can click Close and then OK on the Internet Options window and then you can try doing your yahoo and monster.com

XP Pro desktop: I open web page and screen closes back to desktop


Could be either a virus or compatibility issue with an update. Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Click in the SHOW UPDATES at the top of the screen. Scroll down until you find Windows Internet Explorer 7. Look for the newest date of Updates to IE. Uninstall the last update by clicking on it and selecting remove. Then test IE. If this does not work, look for the last Windows update and do the same.

It takes my PC a very long time to boot up, what can i do?



If you have installed any softwares recently it might slow down the pc as many softwares will install a startup file in order to start faster. You can shut these programs from starting up when the pc starts.
I put 2 steps to resolve this in order of simplicity.

Remove icons from the Startup folder
Some programs open with a shortcut icon in the startup folder (Startup icons). Use the following steps to show any startup icons that might be hidden and remove startup icons from the startup folder:
NOTE: Removing items from the Startup folder does not uninstall the software program.
1. Right-click the Start button, and click Explore . The Windows Explorer window displays with Start Menu already selected.
2. Click the plus sign ( + ) next to Programs .
3. Click Startup . The shortcut icons are listed in the right pane of the window.
4. To show any hidden icons, click Tools , click Folder Options , and click the View tab.
5. Click Show hidden files and folders (Windows XP/ME) or Show all files (Windows 98), and click OK .
6. Click an unwanted startup item in the right pane of the window and drag it to a blank area on the Windows desktop. Release the mouse button to drop the icon onto the desktop.
7. Continue dragging unwanted icons until all unwanted startup icons are on the desktop. Click Yes to any window that display asking to confirm the removal of a read-only file.
8. Close Windows Explorer and restart the computer for the changes to take effect. Delete the startup icons that were moved to the desktop after you are satisfied with the way the software programs are working.
If you find that a particular software program should not have been removed from the Startup folder, double-click the startup menu item to open the Startup window. Then drag the icon from the desktop back into the Startup window.

Internet explorer 7 & other web pages open in the minimized


The next time you open your browser drag the corners until it's maximized.

Close it by clicking "File"....then...."Close" instead of closing the window with "X".

From then on it should open to its' maximum size.

I'm a Windows user but a very strong advocate of the Firefox browser.

Missing m3plugin.dll


Hi ssponheim,
this is a common issue with the program. (MyWebSearch).
Try this. Right click once on the start button, (Apop-up window will open), slide up to Explorer & left click on it once. Right click once on the C: drive & left click Search. In the search top window type the name of the file: m3plugin.dll

Click search.
Windows will find the file. Right click once on the file m3plugin.dll listed in the right hand side of the window & left click Copy. Windows Explorer is still opened. Scroll down to the folder Program Files & left click the plus sign next to it. Program Files will open & you'll see all kinds of folders.
Find the Mywebsearch folder & open it. Find the folder 1.bin Right click once on that folder & left click past.
Close all opened windows & restart the system.
The program will function again without an error message.

Windows Explorer sends continuously error messages


Turning off thumbnails will probably stop you getting that error

DO:
Open Control Panel > Folder Options > Always show Icons, Never Thumbnails

However, this isn't actually fixing the problem.

Do you have Nero installed by any chance?

If so try:
Open Computer > System Drive > Program files > Common Files > Ahead > DSfilter.
Rename "NeroVideoProc.ax" to "1NeroVideoProc.ax"
Also rename "NeVideo.ax" to "1NeVideo.ax"

And then reboot.
