Garmin Nuvi was working fine. Left it in my vehicle and when I came back, the device wouldn't turn on. Connected via the cigarette lighter and still cannot get it to turn on.

My Garmin 750 nuvi won't turn on. It was working one minute, turned it off and then went back to my car an hour or so later and it wasn't working. I turn the switch on top to the left and it still doesn't turn on. My computer can't find it either! I don't get it!

same story: worked fine one minute, now won't turn on.

  • Anonymous Mar 08, 2009

the one i have had only only problem; the voice didnt always speak when the navigation started. then i realized that as weeks passed the time it took to turn it on increased. it used to take no time at all. then 5 minutes. now it takes an average of 25 minutes at least until it turns on!

My garmin nuvi 750 was working fine yesterday but, I left it in the car and, when I went put there this morning it wouldn't turn on. I tried reseting, I plugged it in to every car outlet I have but, it still isn't working. I even plugged it into my other car. What do I do?

nuvi 780 - second time in 2 months (new) and it will not power up. yesterday it said it was downloading new bluetooth software. i turned it off - and it hasn't come back on since. i tried 'resetting' it ten times, holding the switch to the left for 8 seconds, 10 seconds, 15, 20, 30...nothing works. is this thing a piece of 300$ junk or what?

Per the Owner's Manual, slide the Power key to the left and hold for eight seconds. THis will reset the nuvi and it should operate normally after that. Note, I had to do this with my nuvi - it took a "long" eight second but it worked!

Mine did the same last night. i turned it off for a few hours and it wuldnt turn back on. i spent several hours trying several things including holding the power button. i read about them having switch issues and battery fade, so i thought i'd open it up but couldnt find a g.nuvi 750 guide and there are no visable screws on the back. finally, i noticed a small dimple on the bottom sticker. BINGO! i thought, i peeled the sticker back to find the screws are "torx" heads. FAIL! i thought. i noticed a small cut out under the sticker as well and pushed it with my screw driver. it felt like it contacted a button. BINGO! a reset button? nothing came on though. so i slid power to on and pushed the tab... SUCCESS, POWER ON, EVERYTHING WORKING NORMAL AGAIN!!!!!

I have a Garmin Nuvi 750. It went dead suddenly.

THERES A GOOD CHANCE THAT THE CABLE IS DAMAGED OR EVEN WORST THE CONNECTOR WITHIN THE UNIT IS DAMAGED OR BROKEN. TRY USING THE OTHER CABLE IE THE CAR TO UNIT CABLE OR THE USB TO UNIT CABLE IF EITHER ONE WORKS THE OTHER IS DEFECTIVE, IF NONE OF THEM WORK THERE GOES TROUBLE.

Charger does not charge and battery is draining for Garmin Nuvi 750. What is the problem?

Check for power at the cord. Then check for power at the rectacle. If you have good power but it still doesn't charge, send to Garmin for repairs.

I need help downloading my music from comp.to Gps Garmin Nuvi 750

Hi,

If you open the Nuvi folder in My computer, it could be a mounted drive.
supported file types are MP3, M3U, M3U8
Copy and paste to the folder.

then go to
Menu,tools,media player, source,browse.
In here you will have options too, fwd, rewind, skip, repeat, shuffle etc...

Hope this helps
Regards
Richard.

Sound breaks up when direction are spoken

Connect your unit to your computer with the USB cable, go to Garmin.com and update your software from the "SUPPORT" tab. This should fix you sound problem unless it is caused by a broken speaker. Also see http://www.sharc.net/gps_audio_repair.htm for additional information.

No car radio / stereo for use with Garmin nuvi 750 GPS

Every Garmin Nuvi unit I've seen has a (loud) built-in speaker. The only demand our 250s and 265 make of the vehicle is a 12V power supply (and they'll even work without that for a while, until the battery goes flat).

Garmin 750 - 90 days old

Had the same problem-try this- leave your nuvi off for about 4 hours. Push the power button to the right(lock position) and then to the left (power on position) and let go. I suspect temperature (getting overheated is the problem. This worked for me.
