Maytag Atlantis dryer no heat

My electric dryer stopped heating... any suggestions.

I have the same problem....the dryer runs, but doesn't heat at all on any setting. My first thought was to check the thermostat and/or heating element, but I don't have any diagrams that show where these are located in my dryer. If anyone has any manual that shows where these are I'd appreciate it (the regular manual that came with it doesn't show where they are located).
    It's the Maytag Atlantis...model # MDE7400AYW

I have the same problem of the dryer running, but not heat. My husband was messing around with it, and I don't know if yours is the same model, but ours has the moisture sensor. He found that when he opened the dryer and let it run (you have to hold the knob in for the light to do this) and he tapped his finger against the sensor, it's on the right side inside the door, the light matched his tapping, so I'm assuming that it might be the sensor itself that is causing the problem. Ours will heat for about the 1st minute or so of the cycle and then stops. Not sure if the sensor is replaceable, or something that can be done by the consumer or not.

The heating element and thermostat are located behind the front panel of the dryer. you will need to remove the door, then the retaining screws. the heater / element is located on the left side as you are facing the front of the dryer and has to sheet meta screws (upper back top / and front bottom) which will need to be removed. the unit has several colored wires for the thermostat and switch. remove these (remember which goes where) and the enitre unit will come out easily.

Check the thermostat and heating element those are the main reasons a dryer will still work but no heat.

Suggest you clean the lint trap AND THE exhaust hose. If either is blocked up, the dryer could overheat - and cause a fire if it gets too hot.

most dryers have a thermal switch or breaker in the cavity somewhere, they can become worn over time and will stop heating, the item probably looks like a copper arm that touches a contact similar to a old morse code key by looks

I love the Maytag Atlantis!!! This sounds like your motor may be bad. It's NOT the element or it would not heat at all. Hope this helps!

Maytag atlantis gas dryer, will start, heat up but then no heat

Try running it with the vent disconnected and feel the air coming out of the dryer. It should have good flow. If it dries good, your pipe may be clogged.

Maytag atlantis dryer does not heat

Perhaps the thermal fuse is open. All thermostats and thermal fuses should be closed for continuity at room temperature on this dryer.

the flame going out is normal. the heat cycles on and off as called for by the thermostat. If the heat doesn't come back on i would start by changing the gas coils.
