I would try a different SD card in it to find out if it's a problem with the camera or the card. If you bought an SDHC card, it may not be supported in such an old camera, and you may have to find a plain old SD card.

Hi how do i formatt my camera card

From page 63 in the manual.

Format

Internal memory format : Remove the SD memory card to format the internal memory.

SD memory card format : Insert the SD memory card to format the SD memory card.

All the files in the memory are deleted by the [FORMAT] function.

Before formatting the memory, it is advisable to copy important data onto other media as back-up

e.g. floppy disks, hard disks, CD etc.

1. Turn the camera power on.

2. Select the PLAY mode by rotating the mode dial.

3. Do not turn the LCD monitor off.

4. Press the MENU button to display the menu on the LCD

monitor.

5. Press the UP( )/ DOWN( ) button and select [DELETE].

6. Press the SET( ) button and the sub menu will display.

7. Select [FORMAT] by pressing the UP( )/DOWN( ) button

and press the SET( ) button

8. Select [NO] or [YES] and press the SET( ) button.

[Selecting NO] : The image will be displayed on the

LCD monitor.

[Selecting YES] : A [PLEASE WAIT!] message is

displayed and all of images are
deleted.

Recently bough a Lexar SDHC 8 GB memory card and now my Samsung Digimax A503 camera won't turn on with the card in. It will power up for about 15seconds and than shuts off. The camera works fine without...

Hi.

The 8GB memory card is too big. The Samsung Digimax A503 only supports SD cards up to 2GB and is probably the reason the camera is turning itself off.

Check SD/MS card, black screen

If you are using high capacity card i.e 4gb and above, it may cause the problem as this camera dos'nt support for memory cards more than 2gb,
Try cleaning the contact points of the memory card to ensure fine connectivity is established,
Try formatting the memory card

I bought a 4GB Memory Card for my Samsung Digimax D53. I put it the camera and Try to format it but it says check sd card. I tried another 1GB memory card and it worked. I know that the problem is with my...

Unfortunately, you can't. The D53 works with MMC and SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. Since this is a hardware issue, it is not something that can be changed with a firmware update. You need to use cards 2GB and smaller.

Wanted to increase memory on my Samsung digimax d53

It sound like your card is a larger capacity than your camera can handle. On a quick 'net search I found 2 GB cards are sold as add-ons for this camera, so they should be OK. A 4 GB card might work, but it would be cheaper anyway to just get 2 X 2GB cards.

Samsung Digimax S 500 Digital Camera

I bought a card reader/writer, and copied the pictures to my computer from the memory disk. I erased the disk, and now it works on my camera. Thanks for your help anyway. Problem solved.

Memory card problem

Are you sure you have the right type of memory card? Make sure you use an SD/MMC card. You might try another SD card.

Is this a new camera? I bought one once and the card slot was defective. I took it back right away, rather than trying to force a card into it.

Samsung digimax 130 camera memory error

If memory card is full, just try to delete one picture and try to take a picture and check if it will be saved in the memory card.

There is a Delete All option.

Or if you want to, you may format the memory card and the pictures will be deleted.
