Question about Linksys Ultra RangePlus Wireless Routr Router
My wireless is now working through the house, I want it to be secure and do not know how to do it on the mac as I could not use the CD for setup
You can manually setup the security. You can check this link on how to manually setup a security. You follow these steps.
1. use a computer that is wired direclty to the router. Open you browser and type this number in the address bar. http://192.168.1.1. no username and password is admin. say ok.
2. Once you are in the linksys setup screen, click on the tab at the top that says Wireless, make sure to set the wireless setting to manual setup and hit save settings at the very bottom of the page and once your back look at the top where you clicked wireless, right under that click on the subtab that says wireless security. Set the security mode to WPA-Personal. and on the WPA-Shared key box type the password that you want to use. (it should be a minimum of 8 characters)

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

It is possible that USR is using mAC filtering as a form of security. Your new Compaq adapter has a MAC address. You can try getting the mac address of this device and input this on the USR
