I have an XM600 that will not power up. The light on the power button lights up in amber. I have replaced the power supply with the same results. The PC worked and I gave it t my niece. When she put it together to use it would not power up. This is where I am now.

Take out the CMOS battery for two hours. Also, try to power it up without the CMOS battery. This will clear CMOS. Then put the battery back in and try again. Also, try reseating ALL cables, memory, ect....

AMBER LIGHT ON?

can you try this? unplug the pc, hold down the power switch until the amber light goes off, then (with the pc still unplugged) push the power button to see if the amber light comes back on, if it does, repeat the first step. do this until no light comes on when the power button is pushed. after you've done this. plug the pc back up, then hit the power button. what happens?

ive had this happen to a lot of my dell pc's here at work, but all i can figure out is that its a mobo problem, i also have tried swapping PSU's, but it didnt help.

A flashing amber light means a power supply problem usually caused by a bad power supply. Replace the power supply and everything should work fine for you.

No display on screen and solid amber light on pcs' power button

Well hate to say it but that sort of problem results from a faulty motherboard or processor so if you say that you have changed the motherboard then you problem lies with you processor chip.
