Question about Whirlpool ET8MTKX Top Freezer Refrigerator
I have an ET18NKXAW01, it has water that accumlates at the bottom of the refrigerator (underneath the vegatable crisper) How do I stop this water?
First question would be is your ice machine leaking? If so then disable the ice machine until we can find the cause of leaks and repair them. Is the freezer freezing well? Food compartment temps OK?. Let me know and I will work to help you resolve this. Sea Breeze sea firstname.lastname@example.org

HI, First thing you do is remove the floor panel of the freezer. Do you see ice?
If there is ice, remove the rear wall of the freezer as well and start removing the ice. There will be down inside the drain hole also. A hair dryer works great for this project.
Please do not use sharp object/tools.
Now that you have the ice out of the drain, There is an after market drain transfer heat strip kit you need to buy and add.
Please let me know if I can help you. I have the kit on my web site www.whirlpoolpartssurplus.com

yoor problem is with the drain, when your refrig goes into self defrost the water melted from the defrost needs some where to go. There is a drain for this purpose....it is normally a tube that leads from the rear of freezer to pan by compressor. when this gets blocked the water has nowhere to go except into the freezer vent and down the bottom of the refridge compartment. you will need to clear the blockage in the drain tube...if you are still haveing a problem i can tell you how.

The problem is the drain is clogged. Remove the back panel in your freezer and at the bottom of the evaporator coil you will see a hole about ½” in diameter this is the drain tube. You might need to use some warm water to melt the ice and then run a wire being very careful not to puncture the hose and run it down the tube to free up the drain. This tube travel down to the bottom of your refrigerator to a pan sometimes located on top of the compressor or somewhere else down there. It collects the water there to evaporate. You can enter your model # at www.appliancehelponline.com for a diagram or illustration of your refrigerator. Not all models are available.
