PS3 streches off the TV Screen

I hooked up my PS3 to my SDTV using the supplied cables and the picture streches off the TV screen (in other words some of the left and right side of the screen is cut off). It happens when i do anything on the ps3 (games BD, images). Is there a way to fix this because my TV only has slots for the supplied av cable

Try holding the power button on the ps3 for about 10seconds. It should beep as it normally would turning on, carry on holding the button until it restarts. This should restart the ps3 in standard mode so that it can be viewed via rca/scart connection.
