those are the basic drivers for all cd. dvd, and rw drives. if you are trying to use the drive to burn a cd/dvd you need to purchase software for it your download a free burning software from filehippo.com called xpburner or burnerxp i cant recall the exact name
You can use any kind of writable DVD the difference is that DVD-R, are more secure and data is better protected so you have a Combo or DVD+RW Drive 8X CD/DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD+/-R Drive) that allows you to use a double layer DVD+ R or CD + R if it works for you don't forget to rate me thx
I just format my harddisk and did partition again i think there was must be a system codec file which was occuring a problem at the time of writing and making image from hard disk by using nero
Well a CD-RW/DVD ROM is a CD burner so you really dont need to replace it. Unless you meant replace it with a DVD burner then...
The best thing you can do is go to the Dell website and search your notebook/model number and look for the upgrade drive and buy it from them. If its to expensive search ebay or the web with the info you found on the Dell website (combo drive name + model number) and find one for a cheaper price.
Try this:-
Go to my computer>properties>hardware>device manager and look down the list for your cd/dvd drives and click the '+' sign then highlight your dvd drive and right click to delete.
Restart the pc and windows will find the drive again automatically and install the drivers.
See if that sorts it.
