Put a lens cleaner into it. Can you hear the disc spinning inside, is the laser trying to read it? How old is the player? Has it been sitting not used for any length of time? It's better to use CD players too much than not enough. Has the guarantee expired? I have a workshop in SW London if you get stuck. abcdavedj@aol.com

it's most likely the belt that drives the cd tray has perished over time and certainly if you tilt the player to help it, that's just gravity giving it a push. replace the belt and all should be ok. hope this helps?

Denon DCM 390 not longer reads discs--HELP!

Hi there, this lens may be dirty or it may have a thin layer of heat film that is causing it to not read in a consistent manner. i would try to clean the lens with a good CD lens cleaner. if the cleansing doesn't restore the lens to its original reading state, this will confirm lens assembly failure and you will need to replace this assembly.

Denon DCM 5000 error code

The disc is loaded upside-down in the disc rack or the disc is dirty or scratched, try another disc and make sure the top side (label side with printing) is facing towards the back of the rack, away from you. The bottom or data side should face out towards the front of the rack. If that does not work then your laser picups inside may need cleaning. Make sure your disc is clean and now scratches.

Denon 3910 won't load some dvds/cds and vibrates while trying.."disc error"!

I have the Denon 2900 (about 4 years of use) and until recently, suffered from the same (growing) problem. CD's were very difficult to start/read. I recently found advice which I tried and was succesful with. It was manually cleaning the laserlens. I took away the outer housing by unscrewing all off the on top (6), side (4) and the back (2) bolts. After that I took out the top plate of the laserunit which took two very little screws taking out. Now you are looking at the cd-tray with the lens. Take a very soft and clean cloth and moisten it a little bit with clean water (be very carefull with the moistening, don't allow any waterdrop to come out of the cloth into the laserlens while cleaning! Carefully clean the lens and dry it with a dry part of the same cloth. Replace the top plate and the outer housing and the player will recognize the discs like it's new again. Good luck! Does not recognise disc

Try to change the laser unitKSS-240A (opticals). In most cases problem solved. The "zik-zik" sound is made by the motors in the unit as the laser tries to read the CD.
Caution, after installing the new laserunit remove the short circuits on the laserunit itself. This it put there just to protect the laser from static energie faulure during repair.
