Hi,

  1. Allow the unit to cool completely and unplug it before cleaning. use a sponge dampened with soapy water to clean the outside of the coffeemaker, then dry carefully.
  2. Open the reservoir cover and the filter compartment. Remove the coffee grinder lid, the grinder, the filter basket, its cover and the support.
  3. Wash the pieces along with the measure, the carafe and its lid in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroghly and dry. Then replace them in the unit.
  4. All these pieces are also dishwasher safe.
  5. Never pour water inte the unit when the grinder is not in place.
  6. Wipe the part under the filter basket and the heater plate with a damp cloth.
  7. Do not wipe the inside of the reservoir as this may leave fabric or paper residue.
  8. Do not use abrasive sponges or cleaning agents as these could damage the finish.
  9. NEVER IMMERSE THE BASE OF THE UNIT IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
The reservoir cover may also be removed to facilitate cleaning.

Descaling.
Over time and through normal use, lime deposits will build up.
Scale can interfere with the fine mechanics and give the coffee a harsh, bitter taste. For reason, your coffeemaker should be descaled regularly to guarantee good coffee. The frequency of descaling depends on how hard the water is and how frequently you use the coffeemaker.
  • To descale, dilute 30cl white vinegar in 30cl water, pour the mixture into the reservoir and begin a brew cycle.
  • Then run two full cycles by filling the reservoir with water (but no coffee) to rinse the system.
Hope this will help you.

Get descaling solution at any drug store and follow the manual on the bottle. When you do this once a month that should keep your machine in top form

Cuisinart grind and brew--water does not come down

If the water is not coming out of the filter basket, and is instead leaking over the edges, then replace the brew basket.

If there is no water at all, call Cuisinart - those coffee makers have a 3-year warranty.

What is the best way to clean my cuisinart coffee maker?

Cuisinart Coffeemaker Decalcification Process

Run 2 cups distilled white vinegar and 2 cups water through the system - brew it like it was regular coffee. Then run plain water through the coffemaker to rinse the vinegar out and make sure the decalcification was successful. Repeat as needed. Don't forget to remove the charcoal water filters first.

Cuisinart grind and brew

This happens when the machine needs cleaned. Fill coffee maker with white vineger instead of water. Turn grind off, make sure empty pot is in place. Brew a pot of hot vineger. Repeat. Brew a pot of hot water. Repeat. This process removes mineral buildups inside machine. If you have access to filtered water, start using that to brew your coffee. I do and probably do this process 1 per 6 weeks.
