Could the pump/drain be damaged even though it is draining in the beginning of the cycle but when it gets to the end rinse/drain cycle it gives me either suds or f02?

If you have already cleared the drain pump reservoir and verified the drain hoses are all clear, you may have a drain pump that is damaged and is not pumping any longer. The following link explains the "F02" error, just in case you didn't know:

The link recommends replacing the drain pump as corrective action if all the preliminary checks prove unsuccessful. Since you mentioned you found quarters inside the pump, its a good possiblity the pump impeller and/or motor has been damaged and is no longer pumping. This next link explains how to replace the pump:

You can perform this repair yourself, if you wish to save yourself another service call. If this was a Sears service call, their repairs used to be guaranteed for 90 days. Which means, if the repairman fixed the machine and it breaks again within the 90 day period, the next service call should be free of charge. If you do not have such a guarantee and wish to repair this yourself, a replacement pump can be found at Just type in your model number and follow the parts listings on the next page. For comparative shopping, also carries the part, sometimes for less. I hope this helps you. If you require addtional assistance, please let me know.

I apologize for taking so long getting back to you on this. To answer your question, yes it is possible. This is just a theory, but you may have a motor winding (the black thing you referenced) that is failing. If the motor gets hot, it may be seizing up. Hence, the reason why it may work sometimes and not all the time. Since you found change and other obstructions blocking the pump, and have already cleaned out the ALL the drain lines and reservoir, I can only assume you may have a damaged pump. I need to emphasize the drain lines includes the line that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the drain pump. I have found wash cloths, socks, underwear, and clumps of dirt lodged in this area, restricting drain flow. However, if this were the case, the pump would be slow to drain all the time. That's why I recommended you replace the pump. If this is a Duet or Kenmore Elite, the pump usually runs about $70. You can find it at by typing in your model number and using the reference pages on the next page. The pump is sold as an entire assembly. If you have further questions, let me know.

Whirlpool front loader duet hd washer gets stuck in the wash cycle with the error code of F02. What is F02 mean?

Whirlpool Duet front-load washer F02 usually means it is taking over 8 minutes for the washer to sense that the rinse or wash water has drained, which either means that the drain/filter is clogged or the pressure switch/tube is clogged (causing both the washer to over-fill with water and not sensing that water has drained).

To clear out the drain/filter, tilt the washer backwards a little for easier to the kick-plate and support the front bottom with a wood block or similar, remove the front kick-plate's (3) retaining screws and swing the kick-plate up out of the way. The filter drain is behind the white knob in the center, be prepared with something to catch any remaining water and lots of towels to soak up any spills, and turn the knob counter-clockwise to remove the filter.

Hello My Maytag black front loader washer is displaying an error code of F02. Do you know a fix for this error code? Thank you

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

F02 is a drain error in your washer, if the unit is unable to drain then after 4 minutes it will display suds and then F02. The first thing that should be done is cleaning the drain hose and the drain pump filter, you can take out three torx screws from the bottom front panel and then clean the area completely, lift up the cap to clean the filter. If the error returns then check the drain pump if it is not working then replacing the pump is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

I need to the know what is the problem when F02 shows up on the whirlpool front loader washer model wfw92005qoo, this code is not on the chart sheet

F02 is "Long Drain".

Essentially this means that the water is taking too long to empty. Almost certainly a blocked empty pump filter (I think the filter is behind a little door on the bottom right on this machine).

Locate the filter, clean and replace. All will be well

Loud clanking noise during spin cycle. Will not

If it is a front loader, then remove the rear panel, remove the belt, and soin drum by hand, if it feels rough, or is noisy and rumbling, then the main drum bearings have failed.
This is a major repair.

My whirpool front loader say f02

If I am not mistaken f02 code means that long drain. put into spin and see if the pump turns on if it does check if water is coming out... if not need to check if there is something stuck in the pump blocking the flow for the water

Shock or stablizer drum

Power of the wall socket first. Unscrew the shock or 'damper' completely as it is known, noting position, head tail. Test it, it should not be pumping very loose, if so you should replace it. Otherwise just put it back in and tighten the bolts well.

Replacing stabilizers

well if you have a top loader then one or more of these bungies have broken: 8a74703.jpgIf you have front loaders then a stablizer is like a shock on a car, with any luck you just have to locate it and snap it back in place. They come loose when someone washs tennis shoes or the washer is simply moved to another location.

Front loader f02 code

Check the entire length of the drain hose as well. This is from the bottom of the wash tub, to where it connects to the drain pump, to where it exits the washer to the standpipe. The two error codes can be directly related to each other. "F02" usually indicates a clog or failure of the drainage system. "Sud" can be caused from using too much, or improper detergent. It can also be caused when the drain pump is not functioning properly and is pumping air. If you have tried the "Rinse & Spin" option to clear the error, and you have verified all of your drainage system and still have a problem. It is recommended that you replace the drain pump. It may be running, but the impeller may be damaged and it is not pumping water properly. The following links may be of assistance to you:

You may have already viewed this information, but posted it just in case you may have overlooked anything.

Broken stabilizer on Frigidaire front loader

IF it is the bottom stablizer it can be changed easily. But if it damaged the others or sub frame it could get costly.
