Question about Canon PowerShot G9 Digital Camera
This is usually from a loose screw inside the camera, a screw inside the camera can come loose and cause a short which is very common on the G9. If you go to: www.camerasandparts.com all they deal with is service for the Canon Powershots. They're great if you need a hand with one of these and they automatically do the no power correction on the G7's and the G9's they service which is nice. They are about the least expensive out there at $89 and they include the service and the shipping back. The best part, they do excellent work which is a must for me. Hope that helps you some.

It just sounds like the camera has a short. You try this website www.camerasandparts.com They are superb if you need to have a canon camera repaired.

The site you should try for help with this or any canon powershot camera problem is www.camerasandparts.com They are really familiar with this G9 no power problem and pretty much any problem on a canon powershot model. They do perfect work on these and for about half of what Canon wants for the repair.

I benn reading onhere and the one guy said he took out the battery and charge it .
Is there a way you guy can get another better battery for it
and give that a try

What I did was remove the battery and recharge it fully over night. When I put it back in the camera, the battery had enough power to over come the problem and let the camera operate normally. It has been a few days and the camera has been acting fine. I think it may have something to do with the lens motor from information I have gathered from other internet help sites. All I know now is that this problem has happened to many G9 camera users.

My g9 was working fine and then..... I went to take a picture, powered up and that was it. Can't take a picture, lens stays out, can't turn it off, it will do nothing at all. Battery is fully charged. HELP!

Love the camera, but yesterday I turned it on, the lens came out, and everything went dead. Tried charging the battery, played with the battery cover switch, nothing helped. Worse thing is that I'm in Afghanistan. Any solutions other then sending back to Canon??
