Then it is too loose. Double check but I'm pretty sure your adjustment is on the Alternator bracket. You loosen the bottom bolt which allows it to picot on the bracket, then loosen the upper bracket bolt and pull it outward to tighten it, lock the bolts back down and it should resolve your problem. If you have a spring loaded assembly that applies tension and you have to release to get the belt on and off then you may need to replace that or your not getting the belt all the way on. If even one of those channels on that belt don't line up properly the belt will work itself off. If you have a frozen or damaged pulley it will do this as well.

The timing belt just came off of my car last night on my 1994 oldsmobile 88 and i cant figure out how to put it back on need some help maybe send a diagram step by step would help

The 1994 Oldsmobile 88 does not have a cam/timing belt. It uses a chain so I am assuming you are talking about the serpentine belt. There should be a routing diagram of the serpentine belt under the hood somewhere. May be on the underside of the hood or on the radiator mount. Also can be found in your owner's manual. If the belt came of you need to find out why. Either the belt is worn out or the tensioner is defective or both. I would suggest you replace the belt for sure. Here is a diagram of the routing of the belt on your 1994 Olds 88 with 3.8 V6. clay58_18.png

Replace a serpintine belt on a lincoln mark 7 1997

If your asking how. It's simple make a diagram of the belt routing (there might be a diagram on the frame under the hood). Ther is a tentioner pully that holds the belt tight. Get a ratchet with the proper socket fit it on the nut n the center of the tentioner and you can pull the tendioner pully as to le6t the belt have slack. then carefully take it off of the pully . youll have to twist and wiggle it to come out from behind the fan then install the new one in reverse

You should also have a diagram printed either on the radiator support in the front of the engine bay, or possibly on the bottom side of the hood.

Belt routing diagram for 1985 lincon town car.

The routing schematic for the serpentine belt is usually found on the fan shroud. But, if yours is missing you may contact your local lincoln dealer to see if they have the decal for that vehical or that engine.

We are trying to change the belt on my 2000 toyota celica, and we put the new one on and now its making loud noises! we got the right belt, but its still big. what do i do?

I would first double check and make sure that you really do have the right size belt with the right teeth on the belt as well. Another thing that you should look into is maybe the belt tensioner has gone south on you.
