No picture no sound

Did you mean the picture is collapsed only in the middle horizontally(white line appears on the middle part of the screen)?
If that is the case, maybe vertical IC failed or loose connection.

Flickering multi-colored line in the middle of the screen.

You have a failure in the vertical deflection circuit. This could be either a bad vertical chip, the power supply that runs the chip or a bad capacitor in that circuit. This is usually a repair best left to a professional. There is a small possibility that it could be bad solder connections. If genlty tapping the unit temporarily solves the issue you can try and resolder the pins on the vertical chip LA7841 is the part number. There is also a resistor 1 ohm 1 watt. If that resistor is open you can assume the IC is bad

Horizontal blue line

The intermittent horizontal line is cause by a loose solder connection in the vertical amplifier IC.
The IC is mounted on a heatsink nearby or around the flyback transformer.
The way to fix this failure is to add fresh solder where you see some brown spots on the circuitry that were cause by components getting hot.
Good Luck.

It sounds like a vertical deflection problem. You mentioned you had a white HORIZONTAL LINE in the middle of the screen. If this line runs from left to right across the screen it's in Verticla deflection. If it runs from top to bottom, it's in Horizontal deflection. I am assuming the problem is a Vertical deflaecion problem. The repairs necessary are most likley to replace the vertical capacitors or the verticla deflection chip.
Good Luck

Picture is now a thin horizontal line

now only visible in a thin horizontal line. first of all you reduce brightness to monimum. it just to protect your tv from crt demage. your problem is in horizontal output section as you have mentioned that week or so ago the right and left bottom edges of the picture began to move in like a sideways triangle filled with black so this sympton is due to hor. section problem. your flyback transformer or horizontal output might be defective. but remember check for power supply is ok from surge protector hope this will help.

RCA 27" F27189ET HOME THEATRE - No picture

Is unlikely the picture tube is bad,the description of the problem tells me you have a straight line from top to bottom that is an indication of a horizontal deflection problem and is correctable and inexpensive, just in case the line you mention goes from side to side the problem will be in the vertical circuit and is also repairable. To make things easier tap the set on the side just to see if it reacts, don't over do it ,if it does the should be a lot less expensive because it might just be loose conections.Be safe and call for assistance.
