Brasssyslv, There are three bolts holding the bar in place. Two in front and one in the back. To get at the back bolt, remove the plastic triangle shaped cover by pulling it straight up. When you remove these bolts, grab the bar and turn it 90 degrees either way and pull it straight out. Now the only thing holding the fuse box in is either a 10mm bolt or a plastic push pin. Remove it and place the box aside while you change the battery. Good luck with this.

How to remove battery from a 1999 oldsmobile

Remove the electrical/fuse box. Just pops off. Remove the bar that goes across the battery. Remove the terminals and remove the hold down bolt that secures the battery. You need an 8 MM wrench(5/16ths) And a 13 MM socket with ratchet.

97 Pontiac grand am - no power to 4 underhood fuses (f/p injector, ign mod, erls, abs) i have figured out those 4 fuses are powered by a thicker pink wire not from the battery. Any insight where that pink...

Not sure about the pink wire but these fuses get their power from the fuse box itself. The fuse box is fed directly from the battery 12V hot signal by a red wire maybe your red wire has turned pink over time. That wire comes from the battery, a jumper post from the battery, the starter wire, or the back of the alternator depending on the model of the GM. i believe your Grand-Am has the fuse box powered directly from the positive post on the battery via the battery cable. The fuse box gets also gets an input from the ignition switch so that when the switch is in the on position the bus bar containing "ignition on" voltage becomes hot with battery voltage. one side of the fuse comes from this voltage bus bar and the other side of the fuse goes to the component.

2001 aztec battery removal

On most models you have to remove the support bar above the battery, the fuse box, and the windshield washer tank. There is one bolt at the bottom of the battery holding it in the tray.

How do I get the battery out of a 2005 Pointiac Montana?

It's a tight fit. You must remove the bolts securing the bar that goes from the radiator support to the strut tower and remove the bar. The underhood fuse block (also known as battery juction box) can "uncliped" from its base and can then be moved aside. Then the battery has to be turned up on end to get it out.

...and people cannot understand why we mechanics would charge for something as simple as replacing a battery......:-D

How do you get the battery out of a 2006 Chevy Impala LT? We've removed the safety bar, unhooked the connections, taken off the foam padding. Space does not seem large enough to maneuver the battery out....

Remove the two speed nuts that hold the fuse block in place. You will be able to lift the fuse block up and move it out of the way just a enough to lift the end of the battery up and out.

How to change the battery in a 2000 venture

1. Remove the rubber hood gasket at the base of the windshield along the car-right side by pulling up on it
2. Pull up and remove the triangular plastic shield in the car-right rear corner of the engine compartment
3. Remove the rear bolt on the large diagonal bar holding the fuse box
4. remove the two front bolts on that diagonal bar, and the other nearby car-right bolt holding the front of the plastic shield to the front rail
5. Pull up and right on the large bar and fuse box to position it out of the way to expose the battery
6. remove the bolt and spacer at the rear lower base of the battery
7. first remove the negative battery cable (8mm), then the positive cable
8. pull the battery out
9. swap the thermal cover onto the new battery, remove protective terminal caps (if there), and reverse the procedure to reinstall the new battery. Always install the positive cable before the negative to avoid welding your wrench to the car.

2005 battery replacement

Yes you do need to remove the brace "bar" above the battery. If I am not mistaken, the fuse box also has to be relocated for clearance. One thing you must do before you start is disconnect the negative cable from the battery. The negative cable is the black one. One of the oldest rules when working on any vehicle battery is negative is disconnected first and reconnected last. Since the vehicle is "negative ground" it will make it impossible to short negative to ground. The bolts that hold the bar in place are either 13mm or 15mm. The battery is held in place with a plastic wedge that is held down with a 13mm bolt. The battery cables are 8mm.

Alt fuse 2004 4runner

The fuse is bolted in to the power buss-bar in the fuse box. You have to remove the fuse box center section from the outer section (pull it up) to access the 8 or 10 millimeter bolts that holds it to the buss-bar. No other way to do it.
