Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electic extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

follow the troubleshooting procedure a computer needs all of the data and electrical current to travel through every device and to have an end to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working also it could be a dirty computer clean all of the dust from your computer you could use a vacuum cleaner but whatever you use make absolutely sure there is no moisture gets to anything in your computer
another possible reason could be a memory dump you might be running to many programs at the one time putting to much strain on the central processing unit
try uninstalling a few unecessary programs also you might not have enough RAM random acess memory to check what is running when your computer is running scroll to the bottom of your screen toolbar right click select task manager applications and processes if you see something you dont need running select end now
to check how much ram you have click start right click on my computer select properties you will see all of your computers details
then you should defragment your hard drive click start all programs accessories system tools you should see the disk defragmenter

hope this will help you

Try placing it in a different PCI slot. The IRQ may already be assigned to handle too many for this card. Also state the blue screen code if you can, the make and model of computer motherboard would be helpful as well. In your Bios see if your shadowing is enabled if so try disableing shadowing.

I am trying to copy a VHS to DVD from a VHS player. I have a Sony VRD-MC6 multi-function DVD Recorder. I am using the A/V cable and have verified that they are correctly placed. The Sony player will...

Is it possible the VHS you're trying to copy is copy-protected? Apparently, the MC6 displays "waiting for signal" when you're attempting to copy a copy-protected (commercial) video. I had success converting my own homemade VHS tapes. I just bought my MC6, and thought I'd pass along some tips I got from others: You know you're recording when a red ring around the large Record button lights up and it actually says "recording" on screen, and adjust HQ to SP to get 2-plus hours of video on the DVD.

I am running on a Dell XPS and my dazzle dvd recorder wont work.

Hi and Welcome to fixya!

I suggest to you to double click on Instant DVD Recorder Icon and choose go directly to Advance mode. Click next. On step number 1 click the pull down arrow and choose dazzle DVC 100. Click on options and choose video input. If your cable connection is the yellow red and white cable then choose Video composite, If S-video cable then choose Video S-video. If you have a VHS player click VHS input and click okay.
Next when everything is done turn your camcorder, vhs, vcr and then hit the play button.

That is the time that the video image is showing to the preview screen of the computer. Still not showing disconnect the dazzle device and place to another usb port.

If your dazzle device is not showing under step number one, you need to download and install the driver to Pinnacle Website.

Blue screen appears and windows has crashed

Boot into safe mode by pressing F8 repeatedly as the computer boots until you get to the advanced start up menu. Choose safe mode and either roll back your video driver or use a system restore point.

Cannot record from cable box dvr to vhs tape

DVRs have embedded digital rights functionality to prevent you from doing what you are try to do. In addition the VCR has logic to respond to that and prevent recording by blocking the signal.

That is likely why you cannot get a signal.

Copying vhs to dvd

The write-protect tab on the cartridge is set to "PROTECT" or the disc is protected witht the "DVD Management" settings.
Some video tapes on the market(including rental videos) are copy-protected to prevent illegal reproductions. Copy-protected video tapes cannot be properly recorded.
You cannot use the copying function when the FUNCTIONS window, the Scheduled Recording List screen, etc. are displayed.
I hope this information can be of some help to you all. Ms Tanya 2/12/08 3:54AM CST.

Waiting for input signal

It's a protected video. The VRD-MC5 will not burn a VHS or input that has been protected.

Copying vhs to dvd using samsung vr357 ??

I do not think you would have to worry about a way to disable the copy protection that is on the vhs tapes. you are not going to record over them. You are just going to transfer information to the dvd side. jh
