Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Just purchased an LG W2052TQ LCD monitor, it worked fine until I installed the forte Manager from the CD, now it just reboots and then shuts down before it is fully booted. I am unable to get into the computer to delete the file that I loaded.

Press F8 a lot of times before it boots and choose Safe Mode or VGA mode boot, then uninstall the driver that you just installed or use System Restore to go back to a point before you made the change

Analog out of range...screen blank tried booting with f8 but then what?

You will have then to open Device Manager, remove the display adapter driver, then reboot the computer.
Once Windows starts up again after the reboot, it will detect there was a hardware change due to removal of display adapter driver, & will ask for the driver's CD to install it from. Once this is done, everything will be back to normal.

How do I reset my flatron w2052tq monitor to factory settings? . I shipped my monitor to my new home and now I can't get my monitor and printer to agree on a color--I use a ColorMunki to calibrate,...

For the LG w2052tq, you can do a reset to factory settings through the OSD menu. Press Menu then go down to Setup. Press Auto/Set and go down to Factory Reset. Press Auto/Set and confirm the action. Then press Menu twice if needed to exist the menus.

Alternatively, press the Up and Down arrows together.

Remember that you can only adjust the white balance of the monitor when the incoming signal is Analog. Documentation for the monitor is available here: http://www.lg.com/us/support/product/support-product-profile.jsp?customerModelCode=W2052TQ-TF&matchedModelCode=1000004018&searchEngineModelCode=W2052TQ&initialTab=documents&targetPage=support-product-profile .

I hope this helps.

Cold solder joint, or sometging loose inside. I need to disassemble the LG W2052TQ. How do I open it up without destroying it?

I use thin flat blade screw driver to separate the fron bezel from the back cover, starting at the bottom edge and work your way around. Lay the montior face down on soft surface when you almost have the cover loose, then snap it up to get the back completely off, just watch out for any cable and board assembly attached to the front bezel.
I could not find free service manual for you to lok at.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed LG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Dell Desktop DX270 doesn't work with LG w2052TQ monitor...

A Dell Optiplex GX270 can have either on on-board VGA integrated graphics controller or an expansion graphics controller. If an expansion card is installed, the onboard graphics is disabled.

So first, ensure that the VGA cable is connected to the correct graphics connection (If there is an expansion slot with a video connector, ten you must use that connection)

If connected to the correct port on the system, next ensure that the input select for the monitor is either set to autoselect or ANALOG

Last ensure that the display resolution of the graphics adapter will support the new monitor.

Digital shut down

Try making sure the video card's Display Settings have the Screen Resolution set to a level that are compatible with your LCD monitor. Try starting at 800x600, applying the settings and testing them, and moving up slowly until it doesn't work anymore, then stay at that same level.

Now only PC starts booting up but then stops dead, blank screen

Try pushing F8 on startup, this will get you into the safe mode menu. From there select VGA mode. This will start your computer with the most basic set of video drivers.

You should be able to get one of the two monitors working this way.
