This tent is properly protected from the rain, i used it and it was just fine, not a drop of rain came in.

Of course there was a bit of a condensation, but i haven't met a tent that didn't suffer from this problem when it rains.

My tent was whas and pakt away I open it and the howl tent is sticky outside and not water proof now more how do I fiks it pleas help

It sounds like something got sprayed on the tent the last time it was used before it was put up. If it's never been used if it is a Coleman take it back and they will usually repair or replace it, As far as if it's not a major brand and you want to try to save it tou could try using simple green or something like that to get the sticky off. I'd have several days of dry warm weather though so it can dry good then I would get tent sealer most likely depending on how big the tent is and reseal it. Does not sound like any mold issue I have ever seen from putting a tent up wet .

Don't panic if you've never pitched a tent before. It seems scary when you first get started but with a bit of practice you will be doing it within minutes.
The most important thing is to practice putting it up before you go on your camping trip. There's nothing worse than the sun setting and no light left around you as you struggle to pitch your tent.
Here are my tips to help you get started: Make sure the area where you want to put your tent is clear, without any rocks or big bumps underneath, otherwise you won't be comfortable.
Don't pitch your tent on a low lying ground. If it rains - your tent site will be flooded.
To protect your tent you should lay a groundsheet down as tents can be damaged by punctures and moisture. Now take out the poles and insert them into the proper sleeves of the tent. The instruction manuals are usually pretty straight forward and helpful. Place both ends of the pole in the metal rings and the poles with flex as the tent begins to take shape. Straighten the tent by pulling the material straight and making sure the poles are stretched taut to the outer point. Now secure the tent into the stakes at the corners. Make sure they are really firmly in the ground so they can resist wind and being knocked into.

What is an emergency thermal blanket? Do I need one for my tent?

Emergency thermal blankets are insulated blankets that give protection in all-weather condition's. If you are going camping in your backyard then you don't need to get one, but if you are doing a proper camping trip and want to be well equipped, it's a sensible precaution to take one with you.

Are tents waterproof?

In general, tents should be able to keep away a light drizzle but may not be waterproof in a downpour. If you know that you are camping in bad weather, you can buy tents made from better rain resistant material. You can buy a waterproof sealant from a hardware or camping shop and seal the joins on your tent. Make sure you use a groundsheet under your tent to add a protective layer.

Where can I buy an inexpensive 2 person tent? I think we will only need it once so there is no point spending a lot.

Walmart have a 2 person tent for around $30 Just make sure the weather is ok when you go as the cheaper tents tend to not be so weather proof.

What should I look for when I buy a tent?

The first things to consider when you are buying a tent are size and budget. Figure out how much you have to spend and then try and get the best quality tent you can for that amount.

How many people do you need your tent for?

A 2 person tent is actually quite cramped for 2 people and it might be better to invest in a 4 person tent.

Speak to people who have been camping and ask them how comfortable their tents were.

You also need to consider issues such as the material the poles are made from (aluminium is stronger), how big the rainfly is (this is the tent's umbrella) , vents, zippers and guy lines(these keep your tent attached to the ground).

Go to a camping shop and get feedback on all these issues before you rush out and buy.

Can I heat up my tent?

Most of the tents can be heated to create a comfortable environment. Depending on the size of your tent and the outdoor temperature, I can recommend you to purchase an outside heater that will permit use of the tent in most any weather.

I have a great land tent and we went camping this past weekend and got soaked is their any garentee on the product or replacement. The front sheild canopy pole also snapped in half very unsatisfied and...

did you set tent up at home once and soak ot down with water and let it completely dry before using it?
I have several greatland tents and never have trouble
When it is raining the most important thing to do is to make SURE that nothing is touching the tent material on the inside as to that is what causes water to start to leak thru .Just like a wick. Once the tent gets wet the fibers swell and seal the material stoping the water from coming thru and this getting wet is actually the only waterproofing needed . Taking a tent down wet or damp defeats this and must be setup again and soaked and allowed to dry all over again. As for warranty you have to check the owners manual, The pole having snapped sounds like its possible it was put in place in the wrong spot
