Go into menu and try to format memory card-most cameras can just use card right from package without format-format will delete all pics if any and set card up to camera-if that doesn't work try another card and still message then camera is acting up

Try re-formatting the card, it will be one of the camera menu options, probably in set up or card set up.

The card may have an error on it. Try reformatting it from the camera setup menu. This will erase ALL pictures on the card.

Lost my software CD of my Fuji Finepix Z10fd, how ...

You don't need any software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Fuji FinePix z10fd does not come up as removable disk on PC

The camera cannot be used as a card reader. You'll need an actual card reader to write to the card. Yes, it's confusing. You can read the card without a card reader, but you need a card reader to write to the card.
