Problem with Printers & Copiers

I have installed the sharpdesk

Open Question

I have installed the sharpdesk for a Sharp MX-453N MFP printer. and now when i try to scan a document using the sharpdesk it gives to errors continuesly 1- Can not connect to the machine. Check to see if machine is in scan mode 2- Scanning error has occured.

You need to use the Scan to SMB function.
First create a folder, share it over your network.

Go to the MFP and under the scan to SMB enter the IP and path to the folder, enter the ID and password for the computer.

This will scan to the shared folder.

1) Install the Microsoft Office Document Imaging feature by following the steps
given below:

1) Go to Start -> Control Panel.
2) Click the Add or Remove Programs.
3) Select the Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 and click the Change
button.
4) Click the Add or Remove Features and click on Next.
5) Select the Choose advanced customization of applications checkbox and click
Next.
6) Click on the Office Tools -> Microsoft Office Document Imaging -> Scanning, OCR
and Indexing Service Filter.
7) Select Run all from My Computer, insert the Office installation CD, and the
feature is installed.

  • in the device manager check the USB chipset if it is VIA, or ALI, or SIS then it is the usb 1.0 compatibility issue , it ll work some time and sometimes it ll not ....
  • the usb cable shuld not be more than 6 feet in length
  • or it might be the firewall or the antivirus program which is stopping the incomming connection from the scanner .

Thanks for the tip...the problem is NOT a black line but a wide yellow line on the right side of the paper. It starts out about a quarter of the page in width and diminishes in size to about a half inch in width after many repeated scans.

The glass IS clean , and even when the glass had some smudges here and there, I never had a yellow stripe problem!

Scanner bulb is bright and even the entire length of bulb (no dark areas) so I don't think it is the bulb!
