Can sony dsc-w55 cybershot used as webcam through usb

No. The CyberShot was designed as a camera, storing images (and videos) to a memory card. It was not designed to stream videos live to another device.

How do i cut on my web cam and take pictures with it?

The webcam on your laptop is already installed on your laptop. Click the start menu, go to programs and look for the program of your webcam, once you find it, click it and your webcam will open automatically. Also you will find all the picture yo snapped in a folder of "My Document"

Most HP laptops uses Cybershot web cam, so if your were using HP, I would have specifically told you to look out for cybershop in the "program" of start menu. But since you are using Acer, it might not use cybershot. Just search thoroughly, you will definitely find it in "Programs".

Take care.

Can i use Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S700 as webcam and how?

Yes you can use DCS-S700 sony cybershot as a webcam but you must first have the TV tuner card that accepts AV input from an RCA cable (red, yellow and white wire) which is free when you buy the camera (included in the BOX). Sets your TV tuning software (I've used "honestech" software) to receive Composite Input. After setting, close the TV tuning software. Then sets your messenger or any net conferencing software to accept the TV tuner card as your webcam.Yurika!!! It works for me and the videos are very clear. Except only that the focus box of the camera don't disappear.
Even I've used it to document my birthday party from morning to afternoon recording the video directly to my computer without any problem.

Oppss. Dont forget to rate me.
