Question about Hitachi 50V500 50 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

1 Answer

Great...Thanks big IRISH, Wow...thanks for getting to my problem and trying to help me! I just want to make sure that I understand what your saying here...basically that it "could" be that the ballast is dead? Is that correct? I do see a connector facing down on the ballast, it is a 5 pin connector, with the (black) leads coming out of it towards the left side, correct? I am sorry, but I do not follow what you said about determining the Spark Gap Process. Since the bulb is practically brand new, I can almost certainly rule that out. But when you try to turn on the set...the bulb does turn on for a moment. Would that happen even if the ballast was dead? How do I verify, or test this? Thank you!!!! egear00

Good Day, egear00;
This chart shows were voltages are on the ballast. If you the voltages then suspect the ballast, if no voltage suspect the the power source.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

When the screen has a light picture you see pink color bloches all over the screen, when the picture is darker it's not that bad. It all started a few months ago with different colored spots on the screen.

Howdy,
The problem is with the EEPROM in the TV that needs to be reprogrammed. But you need to have the proper Correction Tool (LSUQ0100).
I don't think it's available to the public. Call a Service Company, but make sure they have the “Correction Tool”.

Thanks for using FIXYA, big IRISH.

Samsung model LNT5271f excessive relay cycling before full power

Howdy,
Yes, it is very easy to repair. Solder iron wattage should be at least 300 w.

The PSB is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove the shield that covers the Boards and remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM852 & CM853; 2200ufd 25volts.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

Turn on tv get error message Lamp needs to be replaced and the Lamp Hour meter needs to be reset. I still have picture how do I reset this error message

Howdy,
To reset your Panasonic Lamp Time:
ø Press and hold these buttons for (at least) 5 seconds:
ø Volume Down button (on TV Panel).
ø AND ACTION Button (on remote).

As the remote gets older the ACTION button may not respond unless you press the button dead center and not at an angle.

Thanks for using FIXYA, BIG IRISH.

Light engine replacement

Good Day, tech;

Let's suspect poor cable connections or pinched, BUT I have received bad light engines. Make sure you ordered the correct Part Number. There are two (models) of them; check Model Number, some are 50V500 and 50V500A.

What's your input to indicate red or green???

Let me know if this helpful, big IRISH.
