Battery won't charge - Charging light won't come on.

I thought I needed a new battery, so I replaced the old one and discovered that the battery charging light won't come on with this phone on either of my two base phones or two sattelite phone stations. I have a total of three phones, only one stopped working.

if the handset doesnt work with one of the other chargers, hen assume that its dead and you will need to send it back under warranty for repair

Hi, It sounds like the batteries of the handset could be the problem.
Try replacing the batteries with other new batteries. I recently purchased a good brand of battery (not rechargeable), but they were down in their voltage straight out of the package.
Make sure the batteries are AAA NiMH batteries, and that they are charged for at least 16 hours.
Also check that you have inserted them the correct way +ve/-ve.
When you have inserted them, place the phone on the base and the handset should show you it is charging.

Handset message "Warning check battery" after replacing new battery

Hello - did you put the phone on the charger with new battery and leave it there for 8-12 hours? If so then you may either have the wrong battery or your phone won't accept generic batteries (if it is generic). You can locate your phone model by looking under the base or finding it on this this site. Sometime it is normal to get an error message if you haven't let the battery fully charge. It may say it is charged but still important to leave on charger over night. Good luck:)

The phone says charge but it keeps beeping

five handsets each will need to be properly adjusted. You may need to set the main handset to synchronize with the base unit plugged into the telephone wall jack and assign special configuration numbers to the other handsets in order to properly identify each one within a specified location. One handset left in the turned on mode may make it impossible to place calls with the any of the other handsets. This will continue until either the battery dies or fails on the handset or the phone is switched off and replaced in its charger for charging again. Synchronize the main handset by pressing the MENU button on the handset, then pressing the down button IN order to select the number you wish to assign to that handset. Repeating this process if you have already done so will greatly decrease the level of errors experienced with panasonic phones.

My phone is saying "out of range" it wont let me make any calls. how can i fix it???

When the base and handset stop talking to each other, it is generally because of a power interruption. Modern cordless phones transmit a security code from handset to base, when you start a call. This helps reduce the likelihood that you and your neighbor will be talking over each other, if your phones are on the same channel. If they get out of sync, usually the phone will just beep "out of range."
  • To reset the chip which holds the security code:

    1. Place the phone back in the cradle for a slow five count. Then, pick it up and try it. If it works, you are done. If not, go to step 2.

    2. Unplug the telephone's base unit. Slide the battery cover off the handset, and remove the battery. Wait 30 seconds or so. Plug the base unit back in. Wait five seconds or so. Replace the battery in the handset. Place the handset in the base unit for a slow five count (as above). Now try it. This will almost always solve the problem.

If this does not work, it may mean that the chip which holds your security code is now defunct and needs to be serviced. *

  • Clean the battery contacts in case the battery is not getting charged. Clean the charging contacts on your base unit with a pencil eraser. This gives just enough abrasion to rub off any oxidation, without impairing the chromed surface of the contacts.

  • If the battery is new and you are still experiencing problems, the phone will need to be services. Contact your authorized Service Center. *

No dial tone and when i call my home phone it it doesnt ring.

Turn off your phone and then remove the battery. Press the power on button of your phone without the battery, just hold it for a few seconds. This will drain static electricity on your phone. After that, place the battery back and then power on your phone. See if it works.

Sounds like either the battery wasn't fully charged or they're getting old and need new ones to replace.

When new the batteries can take up to 16 Hours to fully charge.

Uniden Power Max 5 Battery problem

Your phones have the charger built into them and that is what has gone bad. After a while the dealt-V sensing unit dies and the phone overcharges the battery. You will notice your batteries heat up when charged then your delta-V sensing circuit is probably shot.

Personal Note: I think home phone manufacturers are using old non-lipo technology because it has these faults and you will have to get a new phone after some time. Also.... Why aren't home phones half as cool as cell phones??? Hmmmm.... Yeah I want my home phone to get, wifi, contact sync, usb connection, color screen, multi-ring, infinate contact storage, calendar, timer, and all the other bs in a cell phone. At least contact sync through USB, come on. Or even a shared phonebook for all phones right.
