There is a small steering wheel shaped image on the caps of some Chevy's power steering pumps. as for the instrument cluster there are no lamps that represent this fault on any cars. (to my knowledge)

2004 Chevy Impala Power Steering gone

If it is a line no it usually isn't big or expensive. If it is your pump that is expensive for the part but usually not to bad to do. But first see if it is that or if you live where it is really cold it could have just overflowed.

Easiest way to add power stearing fluid to a 2001 chevy impala v6 ??

Locate the cap to the power steering fluid reservoir
bc25493.jpg Remove cap and fill reservoir with GM Power Steering Fluid (P/N 89021184) or any fluid a knowledgeable parts department says is compatible. It may not look like much but there are a few dozen steering fluids available out there and lots of systems aren't compatible with many of them (wrong fluid will disintegrate seals, pumps, etc...)
