The dark colored screw on the switch is the common terminal. This terminal is for the hot wire of one switch and for the load wire of the second switch.The dark terminal on the switch that you are replacing may be in a different position but the darker colored screw is the common terminal. The other 2 wires connect to the other terminals in any order.

Cub motor problem, not turning all the way around. Also have briggs 407777 22hp motor I want to put in it .Problem is how to make electrical connections which wires hook to which
what serial numbers and model numbers??,i might be able to help you now,it would help if i had all the info,,
there is a yellow wire and a black wire on the 22hp ,the yellow is for the generator the black is to shut down the motor,there should be wires going to the starter,they go to the solenoid,,the cub will have alot of wires,if you want to keep the safety switches active,then i need all the info,if you dont,then hook that black wire to a switch and then to ground,hook up the wires to the solenoid the same.

From your switch box to your fan run a 14/3 wire. Take the incoming 14/2 white wire,and connect to white of the 14/3 wire to fan lite combo ,and hook both white wires from fan and lite. Hook the fan black wire to the black wire from the 14/3 Hook the black wire from the fan to the red wire from the 14/3. Then go back to the switches, and add a black and red pigtail about 4"long to the black wire from the 14/2, now connect the red wire to one side of switch, and the other red wire from the 14/3 to the other side of switch. Do the same to the black wire on the other switch.

I am trying to wire a double toggle switch one would work an outside light and the other the garage light. help!!!!
I can probably help you, but I need more info. Are you replacing a single switch that operated both of these lights together? Do you have 3 black wires and three white wires in the box now? Are the 3 white wires all connected together? Were 2 of the black wires connected to one terminal of the old switch, and 1 black wire connected to another terminal of the switch? ----- I'm doing lots of guessing here so that you understand the kind of info I need.

We have an older home, there are to light switch plates with 4 on/off swithches on each. The switch plates we would like to put in are just 3 on/off switches, as some of the old ones shared light sources...
I can help, but I need a lot more specific info. Please use these naming conventions to describe what you have:
G1, G2 -- the two gangs of 4 switches each G1S1 - the first switch in gang 1 L1 - light, appliance or outlet number 1
Describe how each light is controlled as follows: L1 - G1S1 & G2S1 (one light controlled by a pair of 3-way switches) L2,L3 - G1S2 (assumes a normal switch controlling two lights) etc. for all of the L's presently controlled by all 8 switches
Then describe what you want the 6 new switches to operate.
