You want the Windows Genuine Validation Tool, right? So it will tell you whether your Windows installation is valid or not?

It will be one of the downloads available when you go to www.windowsupdate.com

If it's not available, then it is already installed and will be in your system with a filename of "wga". (you could search for it)

Lastly, you could search microsoft's download centre for it.

If you are asking for a tool that will IGNORE your "not genuine" copy of Windows, then i'm not sure you're asking in the right place... ;o)

This copy of Windows did not pass Genuine windows Validation.

This is probably an issue of where you got your Windows XP software from. If it was a disk that came with a computer other than the one it is installed on, that is probably the issue, or if you bought it from somewhere other than a reliable store like Best Buy or something that maybe it. Basically, it means it is a copy or fake, something along those lines.

A massage on my screen alerting me that a copy of windows did not pass a genuine windows validation

RemoveWGA will enable you to easily remove the Microsoft "Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications" tool, which is calling home and connect to MS servers every time you boot. Futures updates of this notification tool will (officialy) setup the connection rate to once every two weeks.

Once the WGA Notification tool has checked your OS and has confirmed you had a legit copy, there is no decent point or reason to check it again and again every boot.

How to resolve the problem of my pc it shows this copy of windows did not pass genuine windows validation

Microsoft says:
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer, and then visit the following Microsoft Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/diag (http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/diag)
  2. Click Start Diagnostics.

Note If you receive a dialog box that asks whether you want to run this file or to save this file, click Run.

The WGA Diagnostic Tool analyzes the computer and then lists the reasons why you cannot validate the copy of Windows XP. The WGA Diagnostic Tool may also list some error messages.

The most common problems are an invalid product key and a blocked volume license key. If the product key that is generated by the WGA Diagnostic Tool differs from the original product key, go to step 3. If this is not issue, see the "More Information" section to resolve the problem.
  3. If the product key that is generated by WGA Diagnostic Tool differs from the original product key, you must change the product key back to the original product key. To change the product key, use the Windows Product Key Update Tool. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/selfhelp/PKUInstructions.aspx (http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/selfhelp/PKUInstructions.aspx)
  4. Follow the instructions on the Web site, and then try to validate Windows XP again.

Victim of software counterfeiting by genuine microsoft software

Hi there,

http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/selfhelp/servicerequest.aspx?displaylang=en
Submit a technical support request

The Microsoft Technical Support team can help with technical issues that can't be resolved by following the instructions on the validation failure page or running online diagnostics. Support for technical problems related to validation is available at no charge, and most support requests receive a response within one business day. How to submit a technical support request
  1. Run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool. This tool will generate a summary of your computer's settings and system details that will aid the support team in the troubleshooting process.

  2. Open Microsoft Help and Support to determine what type of technical support is available in your area.
  3. If you choose email support, follow the prompts in order to submit your support request. Note that you may be prompted to download an ActiveX control. This is not required and you may continue without installing this control.

    • Enter your contact information.
    • Enter the following information in the Problem Description text box:

      • Paste the information copied from the diagnostic tool in Step 1 above. To do this, right-click in the text box and choose Paste.
      • If you have additional details or comments for the support team, type them at the end of the same text box.
      • If possible, also include the Product Key found on your Windows Certificate of Authenticity (COA). The product key can often assist our support engineers in quickly determining the cause of your validation issue.
    • Fill in any additional information requested on the page and click Submit. Your request will be routed to the Microsoft Genuine Advantage technical support team. You will receive a confirmation number via e-mail that you can save for future reference.

    Hope this helps.

Why am does this message "you may be a victim of software counterfeiting this copy of windows did not pass genuine windows validation" promptly appearing on my desktop?

It means that the copy of microsoft windows installed on your system in not a Genuine Copy (not original, duplicate copy). If you purchased it from a retailer or from an online store etc.. you can complain them about this issue. We can get rid of this notification, but it's not legal. So I don't recommend the method, but instead you proceed with the complain. I hope you understand what I mean.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.
