Computer freezing up

You might have a virus or infection causing the freezing. Try booting into safe mode, then download and install MalwareBytes and run a Quick Scan.

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode With Networking option (this will give you internet connectivity) and let it boot up. Safe Mode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this is normal. Open your internet browser then download and install MalwareBytes and run a Quick Scan.

Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download and install malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When the site opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do not click the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the Gui Interface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version or Decline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run a QUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be in red. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad text document will open up showing you the results. You can close the text document and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTED RESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When it finishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot your machine.

Why does my mouse automatically scrolls up or down on my screeen

Your mouse might be bad or you could have a virus or infection that has hijacked your mouse. Boot up into safe mode and see if the mouse is ok. Then download and install MalwareBytes and run a Quick Scan.

If the above steps does not fix the problem:

Try another mouse and see if it scrolls.

Gmail page frozen

If it freezes all the time does other pages freeze? If other pages freeze you have a virus or infection.

Download and Install MalwareBytes then run a Quick Scan.
Go to www.google.com and in the search box type:"Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download andinstall malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When thesite opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do notclick the Red Download button, that's junk. You can close the textdocument and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTEDRESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When itfinishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot yourmachine.

If it only freezes on the gmail page then try a different internet browser if you are using Internet Explorer. Try downloading Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Google Chrome. Unlike Internet Explorer they install in less than 5 minutes and they are faster and safer than Internet Explorer.

Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "Download Mozilla Firefox" (without the quotes). Download and Install Mozilla Firefox from Mozilla's website. Do the same thing for Opera and Google Chrome.

I've put the links of each one below so if you like you can just click on them to go to their site to do the download and install.

Mouse and keyboard not responding upon opening

LOL, good ole Norton. I hope you give Norton the boot once you get this fixed. Try booting up in Safe Mode and see if they work.

If after all the above they both still do not function, lets restore your system back to a day before Norton notified you to turn the computer off.

Click Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/SystemRestore. Select a Restore Point (date and time) that is before youstarted having problems. System Restore does not delete you data, documentsmusic, pictures, videos or programs (unless the program was installed after therestore point you selected).

System Recovery loses all your data, documents, music, pictures, videos andprograms. It sets your system back to the time you first purchased it.

Hp desktop keeps getting slower

It's probably got a virus. run a virus scan. Open your internet browser and go to google and type "download cnet malwarebytes" (without the quotes) in the google search. Look for the site download.cnet.com in the results and download and install MalwareBytes from there. be careful and watch what you click on because there will be some other junk that has a download button on cnet's site. Make sure you click the MalwareBytes download button. Once you download and install it, run a Quick Scan. If it finds infections the number of infections will be shown in red. When it finishes scanning click Show Results and a notepad will pop up showing you a text document of the results. You can close the notepad document. Now look at the malwarebytes interface and you should see an option to Remove Selected Results (they will already be checked for you). Click Remove Selected Results and when it finishes you will be instructed to click ok to reboot the machine. If you have Norton Antivirus or McAfee Antivirus remove them especially if you see the number of infections malwarebytes found. They are core hogs that will slow you to a crawl and not good at preventing viruses. Try one of the free antivirus programs such as AVG or AVAST. Download and install one of them after you ditch Norton or McAfee if you have them. Get this done and your system should perform much better.

Cannot get the internet explorer to open. the screen was jumping and now I cannot open the internet. I have Norton antivirus, but cannot open that either. what can I do to fix this when I cannot open...

Start->all programs->Accessories->system->Restore. And now restore to an earlier date. Keep moving backwards till you reboot correctly and run all the progs correctly. It seems that you have installed something that has not suited your PC at all.

Cannot manage to load norton security programme

hi there,

although, not specified what you did but i presume 2 actions:

1. Running the program and cannot be completely loaded, it means that there's a program that block your Norton Internet Security 2008 to run, and that might be a Virus or Trojan. or someone is hacking in your pc (might be). and this will happen, if your Norton Internet Security 2008 is not updated and/or you install an internet plug ins in some of your visited website and through that plug ins the website administrator has a link in your pc to access, but not all.

solution: try to uninstall and fresh install your Norton Internet Security 2008 but before you do that make sure that you have a supported docs like cd key and response code from Norton if any, to successfully install your anti virus. and before you install, unplug your connection from internet (install offline, after installation, update it and scan your pc).

2. you install your Norton Internet Security 2008 and cannot be completely loaded, it means that Norton program is corrupted. please have a fresh copy in cd if any and install it.

In my experience Norton can become flakey at times. Make sure your subscription to norton has not expired. Otherwise try un-installing norton and re-installing it. Part of it may have become corrupted.
