Oven made pop noise now won t heat

It sounds like the control board blew out. I have had a couple of these just blow like that lately. The bake and broil wont work. . Check for any bad wiring but the control board is most likely the culprit.

Baking & broiling elements won't heat after baking element burned out and was replaced.

the surge from the original element burning out has destroyed the control board if you can't hear the relays on the board clicking when you power up the elements bake or broil then its either the low voltage side of the board,if you hear clicking then the relays are working but the contacts are burned out and can't pass the current to heat the oven or briol elements

sounds like when you put it on bake only the broil element is coming on,when in bake both elements come on,set it to bake, does the bake element glow orange when it heats up,if not the element could be bad and the heat is coming from the broil element or you could be only getting 120 volts to the element,so start it and see if the element glows orange or after like 5 minutes touch the element with a wet paper towel and see if it's even getting hot at all,if not make sure you unplug it or flip the breaker before you go to remove the element, there's 240 volts going to it and power is there all the time,i've seen people try to take it out with the power on thinking that the oven isn't on and POP not only is the element bad but they took out the relay in the clock assy. to by doing that.if you want to write back and let me know what you find i'd be happy to help you if you need more help.

My Kenmore 911-4298814 oven won't hold broil or bake temp setting. The oven powers on with no error. When I press the "Bake" and dial up a temperature to (say) 350 degrees, the LCD displays...

just had similar problem with frigidaire, temp display would go blank, not even show clock, i took off back of stove, the circuit board would wiggle. when i pushed in on the circuit board it worked correctly.

We have a Maytag gas oven and it takes close to 30 min just to preheat to 350 degrees, however the broil setting works great. Any help would be great...

The problem beleive it or not is that the bake igniter is weak ,and it is not drawing the proper amprage to open the gas valve. If you have a amp meter access the wires to the bake igniter(usually behind the storage drawer) and check for 3.3-3.6 amps when oven is set to bake by clamping the meter around ONE wire wire of igniter make sure only one wire, either one and not both.
if amp draw less than 3.3-3.6 amps replace bake igniter. I know it seems improbable that if the igniter comes on that it could be the problem.Professional appliance technicians who would charge a average of $250.00 to repair your oven, have found when the igniter comes on yet the oven won't heat that a weak igniter is the cause 100% of the time

Top element doesn't get red hot on bake but does on broil is my controler bad

The top element (broil element) will come on when you put it in bake only to help the oven temp get to the desired setting. If your temperature is reaching the right degrees you shouldn't have a problem.

My Kenmore Elite oven will take over an hour to preheat to 350 degrees and never does get done preheating.

There's a few things that can cause this.

1. Check to see if the both that Bake and Broil elements (burners) are heating up. Check the Broil element in Broil mode.

- during pre-heat the Broil element gets cycled on and off for short time durations to speed up the heating. If the Bake element is not working, then the oven will heat, but very slowly and never reach high temperature.

2. If the elements are both working, then it's possible that you have a bad temperature sensor.

- this is a temperature dependent resistance device that should measure 1080 ohms at 70 deg F (room temp).

3. If #1 and #2 are ok, then the problem is with your oven clock/control unit. We rebuild these at fixyourboard.com.

Bake and Broil not working

After you hit the function you want...bake or broil...click the up arrow.  That should give you the default temp of 350 and the unit should light.  Now adjust to the temp you want.
