Hit a button on my remote and now theres no sound

check the simple things first:

set or a box if used not muted or volume turned low.

In set menu speakers switched ON or OFF?

on remote check for MTS, or SAP, or such.

If set has hookup for external speakers check if set internal or external.

If set has headphone jack does it have sound with headphones?

If a DVD player etc connected to rear inputs has sound--problem is not audio circuit but a setting somewhere on the set or a box if used.

Let me know what you find and if need more help make a comment here.

No sound, neither speakers nor headphone jack

Here are a few things to check and try, as suggested from TEAC:
  1. First, make sure the Tape monitor or adapter switch(s) are not accidentally left on.
  2. Check that the speakers and components are connected
    securely.
  3. Adjust the volume by turning the VOLUME knob.
  4. Check the operation of the connected component.
  5. Select the proper source using the SOURCE button.
  6. Pull out the headphones plug from PHONES jack.
  7. Speaker impedance may be less than prescribed for this unit.
  8. Turn the power off and reduce the volume.
  9. If muting is on, press the MUTING button.
  10. Another solution for you would be to take it to a service shop for a repair cost estimate.

The speakers wont work no sound

This article contains tips for resolving sound related issues in Windows XP.
No Sound From all speakers
  • Check that the speakers are powered on.
  • Check that the speakers are connected to the correct ports on the PC. This is particularly important If the customer has both integrated sound and a sound card.
  • If the speakers have a volume control button - ensure that this is turned up.
  • Check that the Windows Audio service is running. If this is not running then many of the subsequent troubleshooting steps will not work. Go to Start->Run and type services.msc. Double cliick on Windows Audio. Select Start if possible and check that the Startup Type is Automatic. Click OK.
  • If the speakers are digital speakers then try forcing the sound card to use digital. Go to Start->Control Panel->Sound and Audio Devices.. On the Volume tab, click the Advanced button in the Device Volume section. In the Volume Control window, below the Play Control Volume slider, click Advanced. If this does not show select Advanced Controls from the Options menu. Select Digital Output Only
  • If possible try an external audio source like a Walkman, CD, or MP3 player (connect the speakers to the headphone jack)
  • Check that the volume control in Windows isn't muted or turned too low. See the screen shots below. Go to Start->Control Panel and double click on Sounds and Audio Devices.

I can't get the sound to come on. When I mash the volume button i

You gave no brand and model, but some general possibilities. Check the menu in the audio/sound options. Be sure the speakers are "ON" as sometimes they get inadvertently switched off. Some models have a manual speaker switch in the back. Also if this has a headphone jack this could possibly be causing the prob. The jack on some combos can go bad. Plug in a headphone and see if you have audio. Turn down the level, however, to avoid hurting your hearing. If you have audio with phones then unplug the headphones and it may bring the sound back. If not the jack may need replacing.

Volume problems on my Apple MacBook

Hi, Sorry you are having problems,
If I understand you correctly, you have your headphones plugged into the MacBook and are expecting sound to come out of your speekers ?
Well, if that is the case, you must know that the mac will automatically cut the signal to the speekers as soon as headphones are connected.
Now if you are saying that you connected the headphones to test it and found that whe you changed the volume, you could hear the change on the headphones, but when you unplug your head phones, you do not notice any sound difference on the speakers.
SO let's say that is the problem. First thing to always do, of course, is a full shut down and a clean start up with no headphones installed. Once you have booted up, try it again....
If it still does not work, go into your sound preferece pane in the system preferences and change some of the settings, like muting the sound and clicking the button that allows for showing volume in menu bar, unclick options go into the tabs go clicking and unclicking things... then quit and then go back into the sound preferences and set it the way you want, sometimes shaking it up a bit gets it back on track...
Good luck.

No sound_RCA_model L23W10_Only Ear Phone Jack Provides Sound

Hello... I found the following in the user manual for this TV. Also, some RCA models have a speaker switch on the back of the TV. If none of this solves the problem, your TV may need service. I hope this helps...

Sound problems, picture okay
• Maybe the sound is muted. Try pressing the volume up button to restore sound.
• If using S-Video or Y Pb Pr, remember to also connect the component's left and right audio output jacks to the TV's AUDIO jacks.
• Make sure the Volume option in the Sound menu is turned up.
• Make sure headphones aren't connected to the headphones jack.

No sound when on pc mode

Check if your PC can play audio on some other speakers or headphone. If yes, check your monitor audio cable connections. If no something's wrong with your PC audio drivers. Try re-installing them or could be a hardware issue with your PC. Get it checked.
