Tip

Increase Broadband Speed.

Using Windows XP operating system. About 20% of total Bandwidth is reserved for programs. So if are able to extract then we can speed up the broadband connection. In this hack you will learn how to Do this..

  • Click on Start go to Run.
  • Type gpedit.msc & then press enter .
  • A window like the below one would be opened...
  • Now navigate to { Local Computer Policy\Administrative Templates\Network\QOS Packet Scheduler }
  • Under QOS Packet Scheduler, double click on Limit reservable bandwidth.
  • Change the 'Not Configured mode' to 'Enabled' & change the Bandwidth limit (%) to '0'.
  • After that apply the settings.
  • Then reboot your PC.
So speed up your connection now......
Good luck!

Speeding Up Start Menu Button in Windows XP

Speeding up the Start Menu (Windows XP)
Most of us are experiencing delay (slow) opening the StartMenu when we click over it to open the All programs, and others features whichare attached to it. We can speed up this by tweaking the registry withoutaffecting to the operating system. This default speed can be adjusted with aquick Registry modification.
To do this, go click run – type regedit, the registry editor window will open, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER
HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl panel
HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl panelDesktop
HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl panelDesktopMenuShowDelay.
Double click MenuShowDelay to open, you’ll notice that thevalue is 400, now set it to 0 (zero), click OK and close the registry editor, now check the speed of the whether it has taken effect or not. The Start MenuSpeed should have been changed to full speed by now.
For better reference, I've included the graphical representation to perform this tweak step by step:

Try this yourself and enjoy the speed of the Start Menu in windows XPwithout spending a penny or installing additional applications. Good Luck.

Want to print photos from computer to blank cd but can't find how to do it! It's disappeared! Can't even back up my files any more either!

If your programme is not working properly than try to Install neroOEM 6.6.0.8..."Nero Express" and try this procedure From the Nero StartSmart
Select Data Icon> Select Make Data CD> Select +Add> Select the Picture/Pictures "You can select multiples by click and drag system">Add/Finish after selecting the desire picture.> Next> There you you'll see a dialog box appearing: In the dialog box change it according to your desire format/option. 1."Current recorder" choose the CD-R/RW drive.(if you have two drive) in which drive you want to write your picture 2.Disc name "type your desire name" 3.Writing Speed "you can choose anyone from the option" 4.Number of copies: "how many copy of disc you want to write it depend on you"
5. Allow files to be added later 6.Verify data on disc after burning This two it depend on you whether you want to select or not? 7.Burn
Good Luck Thanks

I want to burn some CDs), but I can't copy the files, I keep getting a message that windows is having a problem copying the file.

Hi,

These 2 articles from Microsoft should give you all the info you need :)

Read this one first:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/learnmore/bott_03september16.mspx

If the above does not help there is a more advanced article here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324129

In summary free up at-least 1gb of hard drive space and set your burner to a lower write speed, If this doesn't work it may just be that your burner is getting old and needs to be replaced.

Also the program "NERO Burning ROM" has an option to verify the data after it has been written, I recommend you get a copy of this and use it instead of the Windows XP burning because of this feature.

Hope this helps :)

Good Luck.
