If you really have P4 systems with low cofigurations then Avast! Antivirus would be excellent coice. It uses very low system memory and removes viruses efficiently. Download it from Avast! dot com. If you find the response satisfactory then rate me and if you felt that I misuderstood the question then explain the question in detail!!

The more you have on your hard drive, the slower your computer will be.
remove and delete any program/software you no longer use, or rarely use. Free 3rd party programs can help, download and use the FREE version of ccleaner, link below...

Malware, adware, spyware, and other garbage, will make your computer very sluggish as well... Use a scanner and cleaner to remove them.

a suite of scanning and cleaning is a good tool to use, like Iobits Advanced System Care 8.2 & it's FREE, there is a pro version that does more, but you have to pay for the Upgrade! The Free version works very well. Link below.

Advanced SystemCare Free

start with these two tools. They will help you out!

Hi brstahachal

DVD Drive

You don't say which Operating System you use, so my answer will be presented in general, Windows terms. If yours is a non-Windows Operating System and my answer seems to be of some relevance to you, please consider applying the logic and principles involved here to your own Operating System and, if in doubt, please feel free to add a Comment or Clarification to this Question. Please include information about the type, model and specification of the DVD Drive and those of your computer and the nature of its Operating System. Doing so helps us makes faster, more accurate and more assured Remote Diagnostics leading to better quality and more useful Advice, Answers, Guidelines , How-Tos and Solutions.

You do not say which Operating System you are using.

You do not give any information about your Computer or its specifications. This might have been useful information.

Almost every Operating System, especially current ones, does not require any additional drivers for optical drives like this DVD-ROM Drive. The drivers to run almost every Optical Drive are already built-into the Operating System

The only kinds of software you can generally download for Optical Drives are Firmware Updates, which improve and enhance performance specifications, rather than repair faults or make non-functioning drives function.

Check the label for the Manufacturer of the Drive. It is likely to have been manufactured by Sony, Hitachi, Samsung etc. Go to that company's Support & Downloads website and check for Firmware Updates for the Drive and your Operating System.

I am almost certain that no matter where you look, you will not find any drivers for this device.

If it is an IDE Drive and the device is not working it might be a Jumper Settings problem. Look at the back of the drive to see the jumper pins and jumper. Look on the label to see a diagram of the various pin settings.

If it is faulty, try connecting it with a different IDE cable, or try cleaning the Laser Lens with a DVD Lens Cleaner CD.

If it is slow, it may be a problem with the computer. Some operating systems will automatically. clock an optical Drive down to a low basic speed after it has demonstrated a certain number of read errors.

Also try checking and changing the (SATA/)IDE Settings in BIOS.

The Drive might also be faulty and might need to be replaced.

I hope this helps.

Startup windows

First do a general cleaning then delete any programs from start up that you don't need. Delete any un needed dectop icons.

The biggest problem for slow start ups is because of a corrupt or bloated registry. You need to clean and repair it.

Windows is looking for programs that are no longer there or corrupted, the default time for windows OS to wait is 30 seconds before it gives up and moves on. So if you have a lot of bad registry files this will really slow a computer down. A lot more info can be found here - http://registry-repair-program-reviews.com

Dvd burner not working

It sounds like the DVD burner does not have a "write strategy" for the type of disc you are using. This results in the burner and the software having an endless argument about how to go about the burn!
You can either use another brand of disc more compatible with your burner or go to the DVD burner's manufacturer's website and check for "Firmware" updates.
The firmware is the software within the drive that establishes the write strategy for each type of disc and these are often updated.
If you do update the firmware then be sure to read the instructions on the manufacturers website carefully and follow them EXACTLY.
