Dear sirs, I have just received my laptop back from Highpoint to be fixed, but they didn't send me the power adaptor, and cord, could you please send them back to this address, 9 miller st. Dumbalk 3956 vic. my No is 210708-473.

It's possible that your computer froze during sleep. First, unplug the power cord, (with the cord removed) press the power button for 10-20 seconds. PS: You will lose any unsaved data prior to sleep mode. Let me know if this doesn't resolve your problem, might be something major.

You turned on your laptop and horrors upon horrors, the screen is BLACK! You see that the laptop has power but besides that nothing is happening. I want you to know that there is a very good chance you can get out of this situation quickly and without any cost. This fix works on all brands of laptops:


• 1) TAKE OUT YOUR LAPTOP BATTERY
• 2) REMOVE YOUR AC ADAPTOR CORD, that's the wall power, remove it.
• 3) NOW HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR 30 SECONDS That will drain any static electricity that has built up on your laptop system board and many times fixes the problem of a black screen. After the 30 seconds re-connect your laptop to the wall power and hit the power button normally and see if the laptop comes back up. Replace your battery.

How do you fix your labtop if the log in screen is black.

    Hello sir, hi, AC adaptors usually is on warranty with the device they powers. So if your Laptop is one year warranty so as the AC adaptor. to be sure call your dealer for warranty confirmation.

    My laptop wount start up


    There are several reasons, but if you let me know the start up problem, whether it never boots up or restarted automatically or something like that, it would be easier to diagnose your problem. Well before you post your next comment, try this, check your power, battery as well as AC, Remove the Adaptor cord and boot from the battery, or remove the battery and boot from the AC Adaptor.     are you using same wall socket everytime for this job...
    if yes, then check the mains there too...might be its because of that..

    if all are fine in the socket then u have to check the laptop power supply section ....

    Laptop will not turn on.


    If there are no apparent physical defects on the laptop, power cord, or battery and the laptop is not receiving any power even when plugged in then either your power cord or some circuitry in your laptop have become damaged. If your laptop is still under warranty sending it off to HP for repair will be your cheapest solution, otherwise you may try replacing the power adapter.

    Have a Satellite L35-S2161 laptop does not power up. You press the power button and nothing happens. The laptop is plugged into the power adaptor.


    when you plug in the power adaptor, does the light on the computer come on showing it has power before you press the button. If not , you need to take a voltmeter and check the DC voltage at the computer end of the adaptor while it is powered. If there is no power there, it is a problem with the cord. (this can be done yourself safely if you have access the a multimeter or you can run it down to your local radio shack and ask then to check it for you.
    If the adaptor is ok , then id check where it plugs into the computer for looseness. cords get taken in & out of laptops a lot, and this area is VERY prone to getting damaged so to cause limmitted or no contact resulting in NO power.
    once you've ruled out the cord , the computer power supply comes into suspect. This has airways through the back of your laptop (visable & hidden) that need to be clean (blown out) from time to time. If these get blocked with dirt, the laptop will run hot , shut down eventually and could cause damage to other hardware.
    check these things and post again here, hopefully you dont have to go through everything before you find the issue.

    No power from laptop the green light is on the mains adaptor but nothing else


    Try this : First unplug the power cord, then remove the battery and reinsert it. Plug the power cord back in and wait 10 seconds. Turn power on.
