Download a copy of the Win Ultimate Boot .iso from another computer and burn it to cd. The disk contains password reset utilities that can be used by booting from the disk. Works on Windows XP and Windows 7, as long as you do not have full drive encryption installed. http://www.ubcd4win.com/
You can do by running system installation program. Or you can run a disk tool program provided from hard drive manufacture. This way you will erase all hidden partitions which contain restore source. So, unless you REALLY have to erase your HD totally, ( it means low level or zero format) please, run system CD like XP or 7.
If the backup and recovery disk are for that model of computer , just remove VISTA or Reformat the hard driver using software outside of Window, then reinstall all the Xp stuff, just as if you had a new hard drive. Save all personal files first, of course..
Well you don't need a Driver CD to get the drivers. First off, XP should detect the majority of your stuff, but to be on the safe side, here's all the drivers for your PC:
If you were talking about your Recovery CD (which contains Windows) you can always borrow a friend who has the same version of windows as you, and use your valid serial number to reinstall windows.
IF you have the XP installation CD you can easily do that, Just set your BIOS to boot from the CDrom then put the XP CD on your CD drive then restart the computer , so your computer will automatically boot from the XP installation CD then on that process you will have an option to format the entire hard drive that you have using the XP CD installation, then just let the installation finish...
