Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->System Restore

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next
Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '<' sign in the upper left hand corner of the Month Calendar and select any date that you see in Bold.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

Go to 'Start' and then Run
write "msconfig" inside Run tab and press 'enter'
inside the 'System configuration utility' window click on 'startup' tab then uncheck all the applications except your current antivirus and press apply then 'ok' and then 'exit without restart' option.

Now right click My Computer and go to properties tab.
click 'Advanced' tab then under performance menu click on 'settings'
go to 'Advanced' click on 'change' and increase your virtual memory to 2048 in both spaces.
Now restart windows.

Just do the following steps and your issue will be resolved.

1) Delete all unwanted data from Drive C.

2) Delete all data that you have copied from Drive C to External HDD

3) Open My computer and go to Tools---> Folder Options---->Click on View Tab----> Check 'Show hidden files and folders' and select OK.

4) Go to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp and Delete everything that you see inside Temp Folder

5) Go to C:\WINDOWS\ here you will find folders like $hf_mig$, here you will have to Delete all the folders starting and ending with $ sign.

6) Empty Recycle bin and restart the PC and your issue will be resolved.

Windows sleep mode problems

Sleep mode on a Windows 7 PC saves power without you having to turn your computer off and without losing any work. This option cuts the power to your monitor, powers down the hard drive and pauses all functions until you awaken the computer from hibernation. Whether you have a laptop, desktop or workstation, putting your computer into sleep mode will lower your electric bill and save money! Click the "Start" button in the lower left corner of your desktop. In the lower right corner of the Start menu, next to the "Shut Down" button, is a button labeled with a small, right-pointing arrow. Mouse over the arrow. The Shut Down menu appears. Point at "Sleep" and click on this option. Your Windows 7 computer goes into sleep mode. Wake your computer from sleep mode by jiggling the mouse. There may be a delay of a few seconds before your hardware powers on. All of your open programs are still open and your work is intact, just as you left it before the computer entered sleep mode. Configure your Windows 7 PC to go into sleep mode automatically when it is not used for a certain amount of time. Click "Start" and select "Control Panel." Click "System and Security." Click "Power Options." A menu opens. Click on "Choose when the computer sleeps" and select the number of minutes of inactivity. You can also set a separate time interval to put your monitor into sleep mode. If you set both to 10 minutes, then your PC and monitor will automatically go into sleep mode after 10 minutes of inactivity

How to wake msi u130 from sleeping?tnx

If it is in sleep pressing any key or moving the mouse will generally wake it up. If you left the computer unplugged in sleep mode then it most likely ran out of power. If your using hibernate I would recommend not using it as it has so many issues.... :) If you have to hit the power button to wake it up then it's either shutdown or in hibernate. FYI there will generally be an amber light on to indicate sleep mode. If no lights it's most likely not in sleep mode.

If your desktop goes to sleep when it is idle, then this is controlled by your power settings and you can change the time for how long the system can be idle before going to sleep....If pressing a key or moving the mouse does not wake the system again, then try just pressing once on the power button which should cause the system to wake and bring you back to a sign-on panel again. Note: do not press and hold the power key as this will force power off if held for more than 4 seconds normally on most systems.

I am unable to wake up my netbook from sleep... pressing the power button or anything else on the keyboard seems to do nothing.

Try having it plugged in and press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds. If it is stuck in sleep mode this may force it to shutdown and then it will hopefully start up next time you press the power button.

Vista wakes up on it's own. Never goes to sleep.

Sounds like you've tried all the obvious things. Did you check the BIOS settings and turn off all of the WAKE ON settings in there? Otherwise, it sounds like you might have a third party program which is scheduling without your knowledge (check your start up programs and running processes during normal use). If, when asleep, the machine runs a fan, it may also be waking up for the OS to receive a power or overheat warning message from the BIOS.

Problems with machines not going to sleep when asked are often related to drivers that are not unloading when asked to prepare for the sleep/hibernation process. If you have installed any new hardware (or driver heavy software like specialized encryption or hard drive management stuff) trying uninstalling it and testing the sleep functionality.

Ideas, anyway.
