You are ON the tractor when you engage ... right? There is a switch which requires the operator to be in the operator position when the blades are engaged. If you are in the seat and this still happens, check the switch for proper operation. You can do this by jumpering the switch. If it is the switch, MAKE SURE YOU GTE IT FIXED. Do not leave the safety device by-passed.
If this is not the problem, please re-post your question and mention that it is not the "operator presence" safety switch.
