Works only on battery or charger but quits on both

Is the battery original? Consider a new Battery. Try another Cord/Charger with the EXACT same power specs. Has there been any damage?

I can not get my Asus Eee Pad TF101 to charge at all

Try another AC outlet. Maybe the AC jack has been damaged, due to pulling on the cord? Maybe the battery is dead? The cord you used is damaged, Was the other cord you tried the EXACT same power spec? If not it could fry a component.

Trying to order battery and new power supply for computer 96254

Without the Make, Model of computer It's difficult to help. But a word of advise, Beware of inexpensive aftermarket Batteries and cord/chargers. They sometimes , at best, do not work properly, a worst, can be a fire hazzard. It's cheap for a reason. Be sure to buy the EXACT power specs, Voltage, Amperage. Look to the Laptop Manufacturer for exact replacement. They may be pricey, but , in the long run a better bet.

I broke my ac adapter for my acer I don't know what kind of acer it is or what year it was made but I need to know how to charge it whithought a ac adapter

You can't charge it without a proper cord/charger of the same spec. The model should be on the bottom of the laptop with the power specs. You can buy one online with the Make (Acer), model fo the laptop.

I have a new replacement battery, yet when plugged into AC power is not charging...HELP!!!!

Are you waiting at least 5 minutes before you think you have a problem. A new battery will have resistance to its first charge then it will start charging, that is of course providing there is nothing wrong with the charge part of the motherboard.

I need to know how to remove a DVD drive for a HP lap top.

If your HP Pavilion DV6000 series laptop computer has a bad DVD drive, use the following steps to replace the drive

Purchase a new DVD drive to replace the old HP drive. You can use any slim DVD drive with a 50-pin ATAPI IDE Interface Connector. You will probably want a DVD burner since the original drive was capable of burning DVDs. The drive I used to replace the HP drive is a LG Black IDE Super-multi Slim Notebook DVD Rewriter - OEM version.

Unplug the power cord from your HP laptop. Remove the laptop battery from the back of the computer. This will eliminate the chance of power damage to your computer

Ground yourself by touching a metal object or touch your screwdriver on the ground while touching part of the metal. Unscrew the DVD drive screw circled in the Step 2 photo. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver turn the screw counter-clockwise until it is completely loosened. You may need to flip the computer over to get the screw to fall out. Put the screw in a safe location for later.

Put a small pointed tip object (a paper clip will also work) into the drive release hole on the face of the DVD drive. Use the hole to pull the drive out from the laptop body.

Remove the mounting bracket from the old DVD drive. There are two small Phillips head screws that need to be removed by turning them counterclockwise. Match the bracket up with the holes on the side opposite of the connection port. Using the two screws you just removed, secure the mounting bracket to the new DVD drive by tightening them in the clockwise direction.
Remove the original HP DVD drive face plate from the old drive. It can be removed by working it back and forth to loosen the faceplate. Once it is loose you should be able to pull the faceplate off.

Do the same for the new drive. Once the DVD faceplate is off, match the tabs of the original HP faceplate up and press in until it clicks into place

The new drive is now ready to install into the HP DV6000 series laptop. There is no need to hook up IDE cables and power cables. The new drive can simply be slid into the HP laptop.

Find the screw from Step 3. Make sure the DVD drive is pressed in all the way. Install the small Phillips head screw in the back of the laptop and tighten by turning clockwise.

Found Compaq Pressario in Trash Today - is it worth getting fixed

Start with buying a universal charger from an electronics store.

See if it will turn on. If not, it may not be worth keeping.

Sell it on ebay for parts if thats the case.

It probably needs a new DC jack.. There was a class settlement regarding these models but you are too late for a refund on repair. Weve replaced a couple thousand of these on this model.
