You most likely performed a system recovery. Please do not exit this process as this is vital for the proper setup and configuration after recovery. If you exit it prematurely, your system will not work at all. It is normal for it to stay on step 2 for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Configuration usually takes about 30 minutes total.

What is load setup default

So you reinstalled the operating system ? then returned to set faisafe or optimised defaults

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or the F2 key

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS the using arrow key scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart

note this will erase you operating system you will have to have an operating system disk to load it onto you hard drive or create a partition to load another operating system

(note after you have loaded the operating system you should go back and change the first boot device to your failsafe or optimized defaults)
after windows has loaded

your computer will automatically restart it might restart 2 times one to finish the installation
the next will be because the operating system is loaded and will boot from your cd

during the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load

failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
otherwise it will keep booting from the cd /dvd drive

hope this helps

Blue screen appears & keep restarting

It is possible that the malware is to blame, in which case a computer technician will need to sort it out.

I think it may be a bad memory module or loose memory module connection.

Take care!

Since it's not hot the main suspect is the hard drive. I'd recommend swapping the drive out and reinstalling the operating system.

My HTC Diamond restart and restart and restart....

It might be something you have installed. I think the fastest way to get rid of such a situation is to perform a hard reset. You must know that you'll loose all your personal data, and how to do a hard reset, but here I go, anyway. There two ways to hard reset your Diamond.
Software way: Go to 'Start > Settings > System tab > Memory > Clear Storage tab', enter password '1234' and tap OK.
Hardware way: Turn your device off. Then, press and hold the ENTER key. Whilst keeping this key pressed, briefly press the POWER button. Release the ENTER key when a waring screen comes up. Then, press the VOLUME UP button to hard reset your device, or any other key to cancel the hard reset procedure.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out.
Cheers! Carlos

There is a X beside the speaker icon, can I get rid of it to get the audio output working again? When I click on it, the message reads " no audio ouput installed. It is funny, because it was working well...

If it was working well before, try to restore your computer to the previous setting. Do you know how to run a system restore? If not, follow these steps.
Go to Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Click "System Restore"
Then once System restore window appears, follow the on screen instructions. It will show several dates. Choose the most recent date or the date when the volume was perfectly working. Click on that date and hit next. Just hit next next until finish. Computer will restart during the process. It will tell you if the process is successful or completed. If it does, check your volume settings again. If it won't work, we'll try other solutions but I hope this one does. :)

Acer Extensa 4420 -- Process: 2/25 Pre-System

i also had the exact same problem.....but i got rid of it .....the setup is not yet done so yeah all i did was :
1. make sure there are no start up applications msn ......make sure noe program will open during startup
2. dont close the window that has black screen on it iunno wat that is.....i think its ms-dos or something anyways
3. ok then after that just dont touch your computer at all ..... just leave it there on
4. after a while you'll notice the 2/25 will become 3/25 then 4/25 ...yeah just leave it like that ....until its done
this process performed by the computer really takes a long time to do so ......
I really hope i helped =) have fun

My new acer works fine but there is something loading in the middle of the screen and i cant get rid of it .... how ?

these are system set up routines, when you first boot up Acer laptops they configure themselves, then reboot about 4 times, to load all the drivers and pre installed software, but if its taking too long (hours) then you need to speak to Acer technical, see below for tel no.s
