I have a ThinkPad i1200 that has Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition on it. I want to get the Ethernet port working on it but can't find the right driver for it. I downloaded the Ethernet Driver off lenovo.com but it says a error everytime I start it "Its a Windows 2000 Driver for the i1200" Under the Driver download is the Windows XP one, but don't give it, because it says "Inclueded with operating system". The modem connected to the Ethernet port works and thats how i'm on line on this. I downloaded Driver detective but requires to register and pay $20 and I don't want to pay just for a driver that could be found online somewhere to download. It says its a Intel(R) PRO/100 Network Connection, But it says its installed.
I went under My Computer and device manager and shows a yellow ! next to it. I don't know if it has the right driver installed or not. All the info I found on this leads back to a Intel 10/100 Network Connection.

Re: IBM ThinkPad i Series 1200
Try this driver. I've used it on a few I-series Thinkpads that I've had come through my shop. After the download, uninstall the ethernet drive from the device manager, then reboot. The machine will find the ethernet port and reinstall the drive automatically. If this one doesn't work for you, let me know, an d we'll try a different one.

May be, it depends on the frequency rating of the processors. The 800 is most likey a PC133, if the i-series is a PC133 machine then it will work, however, if it's a PC100 machine, it will not. You will just have to try try it.
