Question about HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook
I'vs had my HP Pavilion Dv9000 laptop about 2 months now, and it has been great.
recently however sounds have only been coming from the right sound channel.
The left side just makes a starng buzzing noise as I adjust the volume balance between right and left trying to get sound. I don't think the problem is with the speakers because even if I use headphones or external speakers I still only get sounds from the right channel and the buzzing continues if I play witht he balance.
So far i have tried:
Updating drivers (I have most recent)
Checking balance and volume levels
i don't have a sound
Based on your description, the problem is internal. To be more specific, it is the surface mounted audio chipset. Corrective measure would require opening the unit and replacing the said component. I was made to understand that this is rarely done in some countries and rather than component level repairs, the motherboard is often replaced. Perhaps at this point, your best bet would be to return your unit to point of purchase and request a replacement//repair since presumably it is under warranty (2 months use only).
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
