More than just bad luck i suspect. Problem will almost surely be turbo overboost. Possible causes, wastegate jammed, actuator siezed, boost sensor inop. Best advice is to have fault codes and live data read with a suitable scan tool to determine the exact cause of the overboost condition. Easy enough job for competent garage.

Your HARD DRIVE (aka: Hard Disk), located on the left side of the unit, may be at fault. You will need to replace the HD.

When you replace your hard drive, you will need to have the latest firmware on a

usb stick. Download the firmware from the playstation official website onto a usb

stick. Once prompted by your system you will need to insert the usb stick into the

PS3. Good luck..

i have been scanning these answers for hours trying to find something that worked. i didnt want to buy another hard drive or enclosure to plug it into my pc so i tried this..... It worked first time, i just turned the system on waited for it to start getting into the loop then pulled the hard drive. it read error on the screen, the ps3 turned off. i turned it off at the power switch, plugged the hard drive back in and turned it back on and it worked first time, went straight to first time setup! im well pleased!

it may be overheatin. Try over to a videogame shop and buy an intercooler.

1). Make sure it has 10cm gap around it;
2). Gently vacuum vent holes from time to time;
3). When PS3 is off - cover it with a piece of cloth;
4). Put it in a horizontal position. buy a ps3 intercooler, it about 30 bucks thank you for using fixya,rate my answer

HI, this is an issue that concerns the Hard disk. the Hard drive disk is corrupt. there are sectors that are unreadable at this time. this is a Sony tech repair and, you will need send this unit to Sony for this repair. its normally a 190 dollar repair plus, the shipping charge as well.

It is possible that the damage has already been done to your PS3. However it is possible that you also have corrupted data on your PS3 hard drive. The link below will help you address this but if you still have trouble then you have any more serious hardware problem.

we just took our ps3 apart and tinkered with the parts and cleaned out the dust and it started working again!!!! and it only took three hours.....i suggest buying an intercooler and watch getting any liquids (especially cleaning products) within 50 feet of a playstation.

i went to mi mates house wid cod4 and when i got home tryed to play on it and it wont load up onto the home page .... any ideas
