When I try to turn the TV there is a click and the green power light comes on for about 4 seconds, then the green light goes off , it then turns on again and then goes off, it then comes back on and then...

Hello
Your TV has horzontal output problem I thinks. It may be due to Line Output Transformer {LOT}; fault or its drive transitor fault. If LOT has trouble; its drive transitor also will get overheated, and finally will go leaky. You just open your Tv, and locate the line drive transistor mentioned above. It can be easly located very near to the LOT and will be three leged component, in black colour, screwed onto a metal heatsink to radiate heat out of it when working. Just resolder it out from the circuit board, and check it for colletor to emitter leak. Anyway replace it with a similar type and number, and see the effect. After replacing it, switch on the TV for just 5 seconds of so, and feel the heat gentated from it. It may be warm, but not get heated more. If it overheats, it is a clear evidence of LOT shor, and it also shoud be replaced with similar type and number. Insist on similar type and number for both the above said components, since they are critical parts of any Tv. Never use substitutions. They may work, but it will effect the clarity of the picture. OK.

Rca on then off by its self

http://www.techlore.com/forum/thread/20588/RCA-D52W14--HELP-/

sounds like maybe a problem with the power supply (flyback) which is what im reading is a common problem with this model RCA.

here is a excerpt from a forum posting :

10756-48X on the label on the flyback, location number LL08(the thing with the red wires)That would be P/N 259296
If the label shows LL08 to be 10799-63X then the P/N would be 265409.Both about $40.00 from Vance Baldwin or Union Electronics.Use the right one or you will have further problems. This should complete all repairs.

sounds like you need to figure out which one you need and order it and will require some soldering. If you arent comfortable with soldering then you might save some money by ordering the right part and taking it to a repair shop to have them install it.

Hope this helps. good luck.

RCA Television D52W14

The first thing in this unit is to check the ribbon cable that goes from the front control panel to the back ssb board, I would unplug and replug to make sure seated properly. Then try it again. There are alot of screws to take out but worth it if this solves the problem.

RCA will not turn on

I had this problem on My RCA tv, what I found was a couple of bad green capacitors in power suply there are around three of them I just replaced 2 of them if I am not mistaken one of them is C120 but if not change all three this are the value of the ones I replaced 2200uf 16v and 220uf 35v, if you see on top of the green capacitors you will notice they are bad.

My tv is working for more than a months and I had the same problem as you are having.
